I have to say this is my first trip to this bagel shop. You will not find a shop like this anywhere old-time Florida charm. A Bagels are extra extraordinary not like a bagel chain. If you have a chance to visit this place go the bagels are so good and I live in Hope Soundtown. This was my first time there.

THE BEST BAGELS.
I have been trying to find a better bagel than Max’s’ for at least 5 years.
I’ve failed.
They have the best around. Full stop.

Ignore the swarm of bitter boomers complaining about drive thru issues, and prices raising to more than $.05c a bagel and you will find a charming delicious spot with phenomenal character.

10/10.

I stopped in Max’s Gourmet Bagels for the first time today. I’m torn on how best to provide a review because of the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the place.

THE BAGELS: Finally decided to go with a five star because MOST people will go there for the bagels AND the bagels are great! Crispy outsides chewy insides just as a bagel should be. If you’re looking for a bagel, you can’t go wrong here.

AMBIANCE: Now, on to the other side. If you’re looking for a place to eat breakfast with some atmosphere, you won’t find it here. “Perfunctory” is the word that comes to mind. Plastic ware, baskets and napkins, functional tables and chairs self-serve coffee… that’s what you’ll get here.

BREAKFAST: If you’re looking to have a good breakfast with your bagel, forget it. “Afterthought” would be the word to best describe their breakfast offerings. I ordered bacon, egg and a sesame bagel, along with a tea (forget my tea Latte). The bagel was great but the bacon and egg looked and tasted like they picked it up at the nearby McDonnalds and slapped it on a plate.

BOTTOM LINE: My key question with every place I review… Would I come back? The answer… YES, for a dozen bagels but a most definite NO for breakfast.

Best bagels in Martin county. Authentic NYC bagels. My go to place for great coffee and fresh breakfast sandwiches. Reasonably priced and you can’t beat the drive thru. Great staff who are always very friendly. I would highly recommend.

Max’s Bagel’s is a gem in Stuart and I can’t sing its praises enough. Finding a parking spot outside Max’s Bagel Shop is a breeze, thanks to the ample parking spaces conveniently located right by the entrance. No circling the block endlessly or squeezing into tight spots here! From the moment you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly baked bagels wraps you in warmth.

The selection is impressive, offering everything from traditional plain and sesame bagels to exciting options like everything and cinnamon raisin. It’s not just about the bagels – the sandwiches are where Max’s truly shines. Each creation is a work of art with generous fillings bursting with flavor. Whether you’re craving a classic bacon, egg, and cheese or something more adventurous like the Western, Max’s has you covered. And let’s not forget the service – the staff here are always friendly and efficient, making sure your order is just right every time. If you’re a bagel lover like me, Max’s Bagels is an absolute must-visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Very mediocre bagels that are not worth the price. I got a bagel sandwich, and asked for butter. It was very dry, perhaps stale (I was here in the morning too), and even though I asked for butter, the lady did not put it on. My wife also thought her bagel was quite dry and lacked the chewiness of a good NY bagel.

My first visit, I used the drive thru window. You order fave to face with a person, that was nice. The young lady was super helpful with understanding the options available. (The menu posted is difficult due to age).
I purchased a bagel sandwich (chicken salad on jalapeño bagel); drink, chips, and side cream cheese for $13.07.
I really enjoyed the sandwich. The bagel was warm, soft and tasty. The chicken salad was perfect. I will definitely be back again. This place is a gem.

I dont know why this place was voted #1 bagels in the east coast. But it definitely is not. To start off, the had 4 bagel choices to choose from during lunch. Orange Cranberry , Cinnamon, Pumpernickel, and Jalapeno. Not even a regular bagel to choose from. They girl said that’s all we have. See the pictures below. Second, the girl left my debit card in the machine and walked of to the back to make my bagel, came back , gave me my new Yorker bagel sandwich and the payment still wasn’t processed, by this time I sat down ate half of my bagel sandwich and she said sorry , our machine is slow. I said yeah very slow , has that been reported? Then she said it was declined, and asked I had cash, I said no, she put the card through again and then it went through after a bit. From the time she went to the back to make my bagel my card had already been in the machine till the time I almost finishing my meal.
15 MINUTES to process a payment. My meal came out to $12.80 for a drink, a tiny bag of kid size chips, and a bagel sandwich. I should have gone next door to subway ,literally next door and ate a complete meal for half the price. Mind you this place for being #1 rated in the east coast is definitely a 1 Star rating. This place was empty and I sat alone in the place which I think if it was #1 rated people would coming from all over. Dont be fooled by the sign.

Just a regular bagel store. It has good bagels and good service. I like the fact that there is a drive thru.

Fairly good bagels.
Selection was limited when we got there, though (ran out of everything, my favorite).
Wouldn’t recommend the Western bagel–it was quite bland.
Servers were nice.
Coffee was -2 stars.
