It’s so good to have a BBQ close by. The brisket was delicious, not overdone…just perfect with all of the different sauces. Couldn’t eat it all, first time I’ve ever taken a doggie bag. Gonna try the pulled pork next.

I’d been here back what it was Spadafora’s and was not impressed. I really wondered if this place could be any good as well given the space is so small and, well, blah. It was much better than expected.

The food was all very good. I saw many complaints about the brisket being dry but two in my party got brisket and it was very tender. The portions are very generous and the quality was excellent. I had baked beans and collard greens for my sides and liked both. I could have easily made two meals out of what I got.

And the atmosphere, while still a bit cramped and loud, suits the restaurant much better. I think they could easily move to a larger location and fill the place out.

Only complaint is that they have a small draft selection, but with all drafts $3 – including craft beers – during happy hour I wasn’t complaining.

This was our first time at Route 8 BBQ but it won’t be our last. The food was excellent and the service was good, however, parking is limited. We pulled into the last spot in the lot but there were plenty of tables available inside.

Anyway, back to the food. My wife and I both had the 3 choice combo and chose pulled pork, brisket and ribs. I tried all 6 sauces on the table and had trouble picking a favorite. The meat was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant. And make sure you order the corn on the cob. It’s excellent!

We really liked Rt. 8 barbecue! Had burnt ends, brisket & some of the best ribs ever! Loved the sauces – for our take out box, our waitress gave us small containers of each sauce which was a really nice touch! Great service! Looking forward to going back – especially for Happy Hour!

Stick to the BBQ items (brisket, pork, and ribs) as they are delicious. The hamburger was below average. The sweet potatoes fries were awesome! Service was okay. They weren’t super busy and our food came out really quickly.

We ate outside and despite some minor road noise the environment was pleasant and relaxing.

This is a nice spot to go after a bike, run or hike at North Park.

Lovely place on route 8. It has a great mixture of grilled and smoked meats. Everything is cooked to perfection. It’s tender and falls off the bone. I would say try it, it’s not for everyone but if you like gourmet southern kitchen you will like this place as well.

Four of us tried this new restaurant and were not impressed.

Pros: BBQ is tender, Staff is friendly; Food is served on metal trays in an appealing manner; Iced tea was good and price on draft beers was reasonable; Sweet potato fries were very good.

Cons: Parking lot is small and location is not easy to exit if you are headed South on Route 8; Floor is extremely slippery (as it was with the previous restaurant in this spot); Very noisy since floors are not carpeted and tables have no coverings; Servings were adequate but not impressive; Six sauces provided must be added to the cooked meat which had no sauces on them when they arrived – 4 of the 6 were very watery and none of us liked any one of them in particular; My brisket was somewhat fatty – my sister’s pulled pork had several large globs of fat mixed in with the meat – ribs were dry rubbed and meat was tender but pretty dry; cole slaw had little flavor (I sent it back) – potatoes were just cubed potatoes fried, no evident seasoning; italian sausage had little taste at all; Expensive for what we got – $50 for 2 of us with 1 beer, a coke, iced tea and a $14 and $20 selection; no coupons or discounts available to use; website is scattered and does not clearly define when happy hour is or show a menu; menu is small white and red print on back – not easy to read for everyone; noise level was uncomfortable for all of us, especially the guys with their hearing aids.

While small, there was no wait at all on a Saturday evening. Food was ready super quick and it was very filling. However it wasn’t very good. Much of the exterior of my ribs was burnt to a crisp and I still 5 hours later have this weird aftertaste from the sauce. My side dishes weren’t all that great either. We unfortunately are very unlikely to go back.

Incredibly cozy parking lot but encouraged they look like they offer delivery so HUGE plus if that is the case! Quick service and enjoyable dining experience. No complaints! The food was great and my kids loved the mac and cheese.
