I asked the waitress what she recommended, she told me “people come for the specials” pointing to the white board behind me. I opted for the country fried steak (a favorite of mine), choosing the sweet potato casserole and the turnip greens as my sides, along with a jalepeño cornbread muffin.

Best greens I ever tasted! The sweet potato casserole was also delicious, reminding me a little of pecan pie. The country fried steak surprised me in that the breading was seasoned with more than simply salt & pepper, had a nice, savory flavor. It was more crunchy than crispy, and I enjoyed it—just the right amount of gravy, too. The gravy was seasoned simply, but on account of the savory breading it was just right, and the amount was spot on, not too much nor too little. Wish I had room to try the cobbler or pie! It was packed, and after my first bite, easy to see why. My plate was ready in a surprisingly short amount of time, and the total—with a tall apple juice—came to $13 and change, a fantastic value for the quality and serving sizes.

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in the South. Everything tasted phenomenal: homemade pot roast, squash, greens, mac and cheese, jalapeño cornbread, and pecan cobbler for dessert. I would eat here weekly if I could!!

Rosie’s is an exemplar of the venerable Southern meat-and-three or meat-and-two lunch: a main dish that’s meat- or fish-based, with a wide choice of side dishes that are vegetables, pickles, salads, or pasta items. Their fried catfish is a big draw, as is their fried chicken. The side items are generous in portion size. You can also, if you wish, get a vegetable plate and select an additional item or two from the side-dish offerings.

The atmosphere is pleasant, light and airy with high ceilings that help mute noise. Wait staff and the staff at the cash registers were very nice and welcoming when we dropped in for lunch today. There’s ample parking in the big parking lot outside, too.

Passing through we made a detour to give this place a try. The airport view is pretty awesome. We missed out on breakfast by 30min. It sure did look good though.
The club sandwich was pretty and the watermelon was super sweet.
My gripe about the place was the service was slow. We sat there for a while before our waitress came over. Our waitress was nice lady.
You do seat yourself and grab your own menus.
If you have the tome stop on by for a meal.

For lunch we got the Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra.
It was very good.

Had lunch today at one of the BEST home cooked meal places I’ve ever eaten. Rosie’s Pot & Kettle Café may not be easy to find but don’t give up, use your GPS and experience true Southern greatness. My daughter and I each got different entrees and veggies so we could share and check out all the goodies today. Pot roast with potatoes, onions, and carrots melted in your mouth. The fried chicken was freshly prepared and perfectly crispy. Turnip greens and turnips were delicious. Boiled squash, pinto beans, and cucumber salad were excellent!! All perfectly seasoned and in generous amounts. Packed and run by a bunch of riveting Rosies, you cannot go wrong at this place. BTW don’t forget to try a homemade dessert. The Bourbon Chocolate Pie (sold out fast) was a rich brownie pie with tons of whole pecans loaded throughout on a fantastic pie crust. Nice to see women and businesses doing good in Little Rock.

First time eating here and probably won’t be returning. The woman taking orders has a bad attitude plus my entire meal was terrible. I ordered the BLT w/ fries. My fries were cold, hard and greasy. They tasted like they sat out and were thrown back in grease because they were also super oily. The BLT looked good but looks can be deceiving. The bacon was hard as a rock and also overcooked. I gave half to my coworker who agreed it was bad. She ordered the meatloaf special and said she didn’t like it at all.

Rosie has a unique atmosphere, able to watch the small Jets takeoff and land while eating breakfast or lunch. I’ve ate here for both breakfast & lunch. Seat yourself when you arrive. Good variety and food choices. Wait staff is quick. Cozy environment, as tables & booths are pretty close to each other. Food served hot and great place to order “home” comfort food! Recommend to locals and those visiting.

All the food is homemade and amazing. They have daily blue plate specials and a large selection of rotating sides. The turnip greens made me go home and slap my mom. Clean kitchen and dining area in a unique location.

Waited 10 minutes for the server to clean or table. Then served over fried okra and the “country fried steak” is nothing more than a deep fried hamburger patty. Good luck to you, I will not be back.
