Nothing short of AMAZING!! The waitress, Lauren, was awesome!! The food and drinks were top notch!! The cast iron skillet cornbread, biscuits, fried chicken, collard greens, oxtails, peach cobbler, and mango key lime pie was delicious. My wife and I enjoyed every moment and we will be back soon with friends.

We had a girls night out dinner here & we’re not disappointed! I’m not a “salad girl” but we got two orders of the peach salad and it was one of the best things I have ever had.

The Roots Southern Table is wonderful and dare; I say a special delight. When the human spirit lives on well beyond attempts to diminish it, courage, hope, excels. Two such persons came together and created a restaurant that simply blends the American southern palate with the rest of the world. Born of this is a fusion of extravagance. In simply stated “top shelf,” delights. Wait staff are both competent and courteous. They will politely engage you and describe to you the menu items with detail. You will have the difficult task of deciding which entrées to select for this occasion. The food, greens, chicken, hot water corn bread, biscuits, and more completely reimagined. Reservations are essential to the experience, so plan accordingly. The price point $$$. On this occasion, I had the Duck fat fried chicken.

My first visit here, for family dinner during a holiday weekend. Highly recommended, and I could see why!

Impeccable is a word that needs to be said throughout this review! Upon entry, the hostess was incredibly welcoming, and the space was very inviting. I was impressed because I saw one server educating another server on the menu…really breaking down the ins and outs of each item. Not just giving generic information.

We read about this restaurant and knew we wanted to try it out – and it was so worth it! We figured the first visit we should try the fried chicken and greens. I’m a native Southerner but never liked greens whe my mom cooked them for dinner. These greens changed all that for me! They were really good, especially with the little cornbread bites they included. They also had seasonal fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were also excellent. I also got mango key lime pie for dessert. Next time I want to try the fish and the waitress said the ox tails are fantastic. The duck fat seems to make the fried chicken really light! There were two of us and we had enough fried chicken for another 2 more meals. This place is really worth the visit! Pictured is the fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, greens with cornbread. Biscuits come with the fried chicken. Also you can see the key lime mango pie with the first bite gone!

Oldie but Goodie….My sister shimada recently sent me an article about Chef Tiffany Derry opening a new restaurant called Radici later this year. This reminded me of the time we tried Chef Derrys restaurant called Roots Southern Table when it first opened back in June 2021. I must say that we have been following Chef Derry career since Top Chef, Cutthroat Kitchen, and when she partnerned with American Airlines to create recipes for the Flagship Lounge at DFW Airport, so we certainly will try her new Italian spot when doors open.

My husband and me had a night to ourselves and have been dying to try this place for a while. It’s an upscale, comfort food joint and doesn’t shy away from flavor. Every ingredient is carefully placed to add depth and unforgettable bites. Absolutely delicious and great service!

First time at Roots Southern Table, it’s very pricy, but it was pretty good! They recently changed their menus. We had the Cast Iron Cornbread as an appetizer. It was decent; it gave Jiffy cornbread in the best way. Then we ordered Perri Perri Poussin chicken and Texas Wagyu Braised Oxtails with herb rice. Both were delicious. The Perri Perri chicken had a spicy kick to it. We also had the Orange Juice Cake for dessert. It reminded me of cornbread cake. Overall we enjoyed our meal! I recommend if you want to try elevated southern cuisine with a few twists.
