Rocky Rococo Pizza: For most of my teenage years and twenties, Rocky’s was my go-to pizza chain. Although there are multiple locations, the chain is primarily in Wisconsin. The first restaurant opened in my college town of Madison back in 1974. They’re known for my favorite type of pizza, which is pan style. In the context of a fast-food pizza chain, their crust is thick, soft, chewy, and flavorful. I’m usually a cheese pizza guy most of the time, but if you like sausage Rocky’s sausages are massive. As many fond memories as I have of Rocky’s, it’s been a few years as I felt that on my last trip the pie fell kind of flat. By flat I mean that the pizza was a little bland. My palate has simply evolved as I’ve tried more non-chain pizza parlors (I mean when I was five, I would have said McDonald’s had the best tasting cheeseburgers in the world). My dad recently had Rocky’s for his birthday celebration, so I gave them another chance. For this review, my slice had sausages, mushrooms, and onions. It didn’t fall flat as the meteor sized sausages supplied plenty of additional flavor. The mushrooms and onions were less noticeable but didn’t hurt. I found the breadsticks to have a nice buttery and garlic flavor, but texturally, they were a little hard and tasted like something from a fast-food restaurant as opposed to freshly baked.
For a chain/fast food pizza joint I would still recommend Rocky’s, but unlike my undergrad days it is no longer my go to pizza. Doughboy approved as a fast-food pizza, but just okay when comparing it to other pizza restaurants

Iconic Wisconsin Pizzaria. This location is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the service is always quick. Great daily slice specials that are filling. Love their Italian sausage style and pizza sauce. The “cheesy” Rocky movie posters fill the restaurant like most of its stores, and this one has the music locked into the 80s.

I ordered my food on the app. I ordered two kids meals, one with pizza one with Alfredo and two adult meals. As I was giving out the food to my family, I noticed that my daughter’s Alfredo was missing. I simply called the restaurant back to let them know and was willing to go back and pick it up because my daughter didn’t have any food for dinner and besides this is one of her favorite meals. The young man that I spoke to was very dismissive and kept on telling me that I had to resolve my issue through the app. I explained to him that my daughter doesn’t have anything to eat everything that comes with the kids meal was inside of the bag except for her Alfredo, which I was willing to come back and get. His answer resolve it through the app. I will not be coming back to this location due to this experience.

The customer service was really good, despite it being pretty busy. The pizza had a nice amount of cheese and toppings, served piping hot.
Now the breadsticks… Meh. It just tasted like dried pizza crust, cut into long strips, with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and served with Marinara sauce.
I’d go back again for the regular slices or super slice sans breadsticks.

Super fast lunch. Super slices always ready and it tastes the same as I remember from my Milwaukee childhood. Clean and super friendly ladies at the front counter.

Rocky Rococo has the best pizza I have ever eaten and their interiors are laiden with endless gag posters. If you never gone to one, give it a shot. You wont be bored waiting for your order.

I was very happy when receiving the email about the heart pizza. I hurried and put in my order only to see that prices increase, but quality isn’t there. I was very disappointed when i put in my order for pick up 30 minutes after the store opened to receive hard extremely small breadsticks for over $4. You only get 6, so it’s pretty sad. Pizza for the first time in a long time actually looks good, I haven’t tried it yet, but will update after I try it. No pink lemonade. It was just a pretty disappointing experience.
