Neighborhood restaurant serving classic local dishes, with their home style take. Casual environment with large dining room. They have both hotline service and meals to order. The servings are quite large for everything so you won’t go home hungry. Some popular dishes include spaghetti and meatball, shrimp Poboys, veal cutlet and macaroni, stuffed artichokes, stuffed peppers, and eggplant casserole. Along with so many sides like cold slaw, potato salad, corn beef and cabbage, and gumbo.

My first time visiting this restaurant. I loved the food and atmosphere. My sisters used to come here regularly back in the 70’s when they would stay with our cousins for the summer. The only negative was the customer service. The workers were not very courteous. Was surprised by that. I expected some of that traditional Southern hospitality. Especially at a place that has been around for 75 years.

The staff are great and the food is decent. Tried the hamburger steak and the muffaletta. The hamburger was bland really. Could use some seasoning. The muffaletta was good but was missing something. I had one in the French quarter last week and it was amazing compared to this one. You get alot of food here for sure. I personally would rather have less and more flavor.

A go-to staple in my family for over 40 years! Worth the drive from anywhere. Try their famous Mac n cheese and red gravy with your fave meat. $17/plate and you can’t finish it! Bring quarters for the claw machine.
