This is a quiet little place on the bank of the San Banard river.out of the way off the beaten path and well known to the locals as the place to be. The food is beyond excellent. The owners are very nice people whom we got to know as we are. I can recommend the fried flounder with a side of collard greens. There is a well stocked bar with mixed drinks and a large assortment of wines by the glass or by the bottle. I will go back soon. Luxurious setting baby grand piano, outdoor seating with mosquito netting. You will enjoy your meal and the view. Don’t miss this one!

The shrimp and fries were decent. I ordered peach cobbler, that was $9 for dessert but it was very mushy. When I asked to exchange it, unfortunately, the owner told me I would have to pay for another dessert. By the way, I don’t usually request to exchange items.

Wife and I went to Dido’s this evening for the first time in many years for both of us. I have not stepped foot in here since the mid 80s. I have only seen this place from the river here recently. We were both hungry and on our way home from work and I gave her a call because I knew she was not far ahead of me and said hey let’s go to Dido’s. This is a really pretty piece of property here. It’s right on the San Bernard River and has a huge old oak tree right beside it that is absolutely beautiful. They built a chapel up under this oak tree and makes for a great picture / postcard. We made our way inside and to a table and we were served immediately. There were not very many people in there which I thought was awesome because it made for a quiet dinner with my sweetheart. My wife ordered the special of the day which I cannot remember what it was but I took a couple of samples of it and it was out of this world delicious. I ordered the blackened Redfish platter which I scarfed down immediately. It was absolutely awesomely delicious. The folks here are very pleasant and knowledgeable in their jobs, big thumbs up to them all. I cannot believe I had overlooked this place all these years. Well, however, this is a mistake I can rectify easily. Awesome food, beautiful scenery, wonderful staff. What more needs to be said?

Had my wedding here on the paddleboat and it was absolutly gorgeous but I want to warn anyone else considering this place. The manager/owner extremely rude and greedy.
I could write a book on how RUDE and unprofessional Nancy Kanter is and what an Awful experience I had dealing with her.
i am just going to make a list of things
-She was in charge of my flowers, when at a meeting with her discussing what she will be doing for my flowers, she couldn’t give a straight answer and just said “I do what I do” long story short I paid her to deliver an ugly bouquet with nothing that I wanted in it because she couldn’t tell us she was incapable of giving me what I wanted.
-2 different times at 2 different scheduled meetings, she had NO CLUE who I was and one of those times was 2 weeks before the wedding.
-she got overwhelmed during the meeting about the flowers, put her hand in my face and said she’s feeling too much negatively to continue. This woman is crazy!!! I’m sure she was feeling negative energy because she would not admit that she could not give me what I wanted and I knew that! I knew she was full of BS and I wasn’t having it!
-she told me the amount we paid”is not that much” and she still needs to make money.
-she tried to add hidden fees to my invoice and when I questioned them they magically disappeared
I could go on for days but I really just want to warn others. The venue is beautiful but she ruins the whole atmosphere with her negative energy. She was so hateful and never once tried to be helpful or make things easier. And the food could definitely be better. It was not the best.
I wouldn’t recommend this place as long as that woman is running it. (Which I heard, may not be for long) She is extremely hard to work with, rude, ugly, mean, and greedy.

I order 2 to 3 dishes when I’m here. When at this part of the Texas gulf coast, i only eat out here. I can’t say enough about the food, atmosphere, and staff! The owner is often there to greet my dad a veteran and I as we take a round table by the windows overlooking the river and paddle wheel ship.
