Went for a lunch date, place is lovely, staff are great l, and food normally brilliant, but in this day sorry chef, your Korean beef salad, wasn’t too good the salad vinegar dressing took away from actual taste of the meal, the beef was perfect spice, with the vinegar drowning the salad left the beef slightly cold. The pavlova strawberry nest and fresh fruit was good only thing that was wrong the meringue was just a bit too chewy, great for young ones but people with dentures, could have been used as glue to keep them in place. This isn’t the usual as meals are 1st class. Will be back because I know their a great team in the background.

Celebrating my wife’s birthday we booked a table for 25 to enjoy the Sunday carvery. The table was within the restaurant but set aside. The booking process was easy and Jason was incredibly helpful adding touches like her name on the menus, time for us to enjoy a glass of Prosecco before eating and to mingle beside the table before being seated.The waiting staff, in particular Stephen, were very attentive with both food and drink top ups. Would highly recommend.

Went for a carvery. Absolutely delicious! Lovely starters to choose from. The king prawns and brie are decent portions and beautifully cooked. The carvery had turkey, beef and ham, very tasty. Nice selection of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Really great meal, will definitely be back!

We had our family Christmas lunch in River Inn today. Our party of 30 included children under 12 and a vegetarian.
The staff were amazing and the food was awesome! Most of us had the carvery which was the best I’ve ever had.

Fabulous carvery with a choice of roast meats and main meals served from the carvery. They also had a delicious sweet trolley…..the profiteroles are amazing…..best carvery around. Be sure to book as always busy on a Sunday.

Went for Sunday carvery. As always service was 10/10..The beef, ham and vegetables were absolutely delicious. Would have given 5 stars, but the Yorkshire puddings unfortunately, were quite poor. Overall, a nice meal but the meat and Yorkshire puddings are usually the star of the show for ne, which wasn’t the case this time.

Christmas lunch at the river inn was very disappointing. We had to wait for our table to be cleaned even then food on the floor along with rubbish below the table.They had run out of soup of choice and bread rolls,given bread instead ,no pudding of our choice either.They also run out of xmas crackers.Staff were apologetic and had Bill reduced slightly.None the less was very disappointing as this was an expensive day out. Had been there many times before and it was excellent as I said disappointed to say the least.
