Rivalries

Social Profile:

The Falmouth Maine location is just steps from two hockey arenas. Often described as an “upscale sports bar and restaurant,” our warm and casual atmosphere is ideal for both sports fans and non-sports fans of all ages. If you haven’t already tried our Sweet Chili Sauce, beware, it’s highly addictive. Craved for by the masses, our signature sauce helped put us on the map in the Portland food scene when we opened our Portland location in 2002. It’s a perfect blend of spicy and sweet with a kick of heat.

Classic sports bar but kid friendly- there is a kid friendly game room. Plenty of space with seating at the bar, and on high-top and regular tables. Good for groups. As is typical for sports bars, they will play the TV sound for local interest games throughout the restaurant which can make table conversation difficult. Food was typical for a sports bar, and the portions generous.

Definitely felt like a sports bar. Went in is our first choice was not open. Where’s not from the area? So we I found something that looked good and it brought us to rivalries. I had a chicken burger and it was excellent. A good beer selection. I was pleased with the service and the quality of the food. It was not busy, but it was a weekday early afternoon. I imagine this would be a pretty cool place to watch a game.

Great sports bar. Each TV was tuned to a different sport! The service is quick with lots of attention to what the customer needs. Easy entrance and no stairs. Open floor plan. I had the Ruben and truffle tots a very complimentary meal. Cannot wait to try another dish.

The meal was delectable. The ambiance was lively, but the service left room for improvement. Our party consisted of seven individuals, and the food was served simultaneously, which was commendable. However, the server neglected to return to our table to inquire about our satisfaction or take additional drink orders. Despite this oversight, we acknowledge that such instances can occur and are willing to give the establishment another chance.

We stopped by to get out of the torrential rain on our way up to Maine. This was a surprise find. The Sweet Chili Chicken Dip and the kids’ Grilled Cheese were delicious!

We came out of the restaurant, and there was a full rainbow!

These tacos were delicious ! And the server Britney knew everything about the food and her favorites, which are now mine. I will definitely be back and fingers crossed I get her as a server again

Six of us stopped in for lunch after a morning youth sports tournament. The server was friendly, polite, efficient and delivered everything we asked for. Except for the chips made on site, our group found the food just “okay.” Not bad but nothing to rave about. (One of the kids’ burgers was so overcooked that it was like rubber but thankfully, they took it off the bill.) Some of the sports TVs were struggling for image quality and are needing to be replaced. We might give it another try when we’re in town again. It just might have been an off day. It happens.

Rivalries has always been one of my favorite spots, especially in the summertime. Whether I’m hanging out on the deck, stopping by for lunch, or watching a Boston sports game with friends, it’s always a great time. The food may be classic pub style, but it’s pub style on steroids—I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Lance, the owner, is often around and genuinely takes time to check in on guests, which is a great touch. But the real star of the staff is Jen, the head manager. She’s absolutely phenomenal to work with, especially when it comes to planning a function. Whether it’s a small family gathering or a larger group event, Jen’s professionalism, experience, and friendly approach make the whole process easy—and even fun.

They truly do a great job all around, and I always look forward to coming back.

First coming here. Really easy to find. Staff is really nice. Prices are very reasonable. Salad was good. Good selection of food and drinks. I would definitely recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner. Since they’re open 11:30-10 there’s plenty of time to grab an early lunch or a late dinner.
