The Ridge Restaurant has been serving people of Basking Ridge and the surrounding areas, since 1987. Celebrating 30 years of serving a hungry public! The Ridge has gained many friends, friends who have become like family. In our family, the most important events of each day was lunch & dinner. There was always an abundance of food; not only for us, but also for the guests brought home. Family member or not, the hospitality was the same, and the fare so delicious you could taste the love that went into its preparation. Continuing that “famiglia” tradition, we, too, care about the preparation of our food and those who come to our table.

I’ve lived here for 30 years, and this was our first time at Ridge. My group of six arrived at 2:30, and we were the only diners. People did come and go for take-out. We were served the best warm bread I’ve had in a long time–crusty on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I believe the owner was our server, and he was very accommodating. The food was delicious! We brought some wine and were given wine glasses.
This is what we ordered:
Mozzarella sticks – Good and typical of what you would usually have.
Meatballs – I loved them. Good flavor and delicious marinara
Pesto Chicken Panini – Excellent
Sausage Parmesan sandwich – My husband didn’t think it was anything special, but the bread was great
Bucatini Amatriciana: Pasta with Italian bacon and onions in a fresh tomato sauce. It was mildly spicy and flavorful, and the portion was good.
The kids split a Margarita pizza with fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, fresh tomato sauce, and basil. Delicious
Overall, we enjoyed the food. We have no complaints and are glad we chose to eat here.

I got the chicken parm dinner. It was great. The sauce is perfect. The chicken was done just right. Not overdone and not underdone. Portions were very nice. The bread was also very good. I also got 2 slices of pepperoni to take home and they were great as well. The owner and staff were very nice people. I highly recommend.

Exceptional Italian pizza. Had the Sicilian style pizza (see pic). Half cheese half spinach, onion and meatball. Crust was thick and perfectly done. My only gripe was it was a tad dry and would have benefited greatly with some marinara dipping sauce.

Oh my goodness what a hidden gem in Basking Ridge! I had an awesome Stromboli sooo delicious! The bread on the Brooklyn sub was crispy on the outside and crazy soft on the inside! The Sicillian slice is really thick yet light and airy! Definitely coming back!

My favorite place in town to order pizza from, and get delivery at least once a week. The young staff who takes the orders and usually does the deliveries are very polite and respectful. Prices have been quite reasonable. Food arrives when expected, and without any errors to the order. Most importantly, ordering from Ridge makes for a predictably delicious meal, every time.

Great historic looking location, I just wish the pizza had a little bit more salt in the cheese/sauce. Their crust on the other hand is amazing, very crispy and light. The cheese and sauce just need a bit more salty flavor added in. The service was adequate,lots of teenagers working there doing teenager things but give it a nice mom/pop feel. Seems to be family run and looks quite busy. Will probably try some others to compare but just wasn’t the right taste for me!

To say the least, the pizza was hot and delicious! There are many great pizza spots around town but this one is truly special. There is a perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. In addition, the crust was crunchy which added to the texture. The ingredients seemed fresh. Great place. Would recommend to anyone.
