⭐️ (If 0 stars were possible, I would give it.)

– Plastic found in the food
– One of the worst Chinese meals I’ve had in years

1. Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce
: There was a sharp piece of plastic inside this dish. It was thick and hard, and someone could have been seriously hurt. This shows a serious lack of food safety and kitchen control.

The taste was completely wrong. This dish is supposed to be savory, garlicky, and slightly spicy, but it tasted like sweet and sour pork. Everyone at the table thought the wrong dish was served. The sauce was overly thick and gluey, and the pork had a bad smell.

2. Peking Duck
: This was not good Peking duck. The skin was very greasy and not properly prepared. Sadly, this was still the most edible dish we ordered.

3. Jumbo Shrimp with Cashew Nuts
: Way too salty to eat. The shrimp were not jumbo at all, and the dish was mostly vegetables.

4. Dry Beef Chow Fun
: The noodles were swollen and not properly stir-fried. There was a bad smell, and the dish had almost no flavor. It smelled like uncooked packaged noodles.

5. Orange Chicken
: Very sweet and very bland. No balance, no flavor.

I hate wasting food, but because of the safety issue and how bad everything tasted, we threw all of it away.

I called the restaurant about the plastic found in the food. Their only response was “sorry” and “we’ll be more careful.” There was no refund, no compensation, and no follow-up.

This level of response to a food safety issue is unacceptable. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We enjoyed the coconut chicken hotpot and the fried rice. It’s around $35 per person for 4 people to share the two dishes. The waitress was really helpful to help us set up and cook the coconut chicken. Credit card transaction will require additional % of costs in the final bill. Overall, we will come back again for the coconut chicken.

A friend recommended this place for Peking Duck, which was good, crispy, and cheaper ($41) than all the other places we have tried. The duck skin is less fat than in other places, which is the best part. 12 pancake wrap is not enough for a half duck, let alone a whole duck. I’m surprised they give fewer pancakes since they are cheap to buy at the local market. Other dishes are delicious too. I highly recommend this restaurant whether you want Peking Duck or authentic Chinese.

We drive past this restaurant whenever we go to Annandale. We always thought this was like a fast food Chinese, but it is a hidden gem of authentic Chinese. This place is small, with a few tables only. It gets busy quickly, and parking is limited in front. There is a rear parking lot that I can’t get to because 2 SUVs blocked the entrance due to the way parking was marked. They need to eliminate one of the parking spots by the entrance to make space for cars to drive in.

the food was excellent and had the originality flavor of that region. server was attentive especially when you order one of those dishes being cooked over portable burner, and you customize the level of spicness accordingly to your taste. place had well balanced lighting unlike some places are either too dim or too bright, so lighting definitely gave it a homey vibe.

A friend and I shared Jumbo Shrimp in Garlic Sauce ($18.95), Roast Pork with Snow Peas ($15.95) and Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings ($7.95) last time we were here. Four of us planned to come back to try the Coconut Chicken Soup ($80), but only three were able to come, so there was a lot to take home. Definitely worth trying this hearty and healthy soup.

The coconut chicken soup (椰汁雞) is amazing! The soup is very sweat and refreshing, and the sauce for the chicken is great too. Highly recommended!

The waiter was very friendly, she reminded us that we should drink the soup before eating any other dishes to make sure we can have the best dining experience.

This restaurant also provides 大閘蟹, but it’s pretty tiny and does not have much meat.

Grabbed lunch the other day, and the food was exceptional. I only ordered 2 dishes: BBQ pork was well seasoned and perfect with rice. The clay pot was hot (duh…) and stuffed with sweet and savory goodness. The waitress/owner were very courteous. Overall, I would definitely be back to try other Clay Pot dishes.

Food quality went down even since they changed the owner since Covid. They couldn’t present the dish listed on the menu and didn’t have time to defrost so the cold dish was literally “icy cold”. The hot chow fun tasted funny too.

Parking lot, so parking wasn’t an issue for me. The food was delicious but the service could use some work. The food is authentic and was very good. Takes some time to come out though so be aware of that. We ordered spring rolls, Crab Meat E-Mein Hong Kong Style, Pineapple Pork Chops and Chinese Yu-choy with garlic. We wanted the Chinese Watercress w/ Garlic but they were sold out. We were asked about drinks quickly when we sat down but took about 20 minutes afterwards for them to take our order even though they took 2 other tables that had sat down. They only have 2 beers but looked like they had a small bar. We didn’t get a beverage menu.

Food took some time to come out at as well and my friend had asked for more water but they never brought it. We had to flag someone down to get bowls of rice which do not come with the meals.

The pork Chops were delicious and pairs very well with rice. Loved the Yu Choy and the E-Mein as well. Spring rolls were okay in my opinion. Kind of wish the E-mein had a little more crab meat. I would come back for the food. At the end when my friend paid for the meal, the server hovered over her while she filled out the tip and signed the receipt.

We have always really enjoyed going to Rice Pot. The management and waitstaff have always been friendly and prompt with their service.

The food has been without fail, delicious. Usually do chicken fried rice and chicken with mixed vegetables. Both very solid, but recently tried the Singapore Rice Noodles and it was exceptional. Fragrant, hint of spice, but not overdone.

Highly recommend if you are looking for a quality Chinese/Asian restaurant.
