This was our 1st time for lunch. We have been here for dinner and special occasions. As per usual, Ricardo’s delivered! We both had the 10oz sirloin with loaded sweet potatoes and broccoli casserole. AMAZING!! I have never had anything here that isn’t good. Don’t be shocked by the price of some items, you will have MORE THAN ENOUGH food!! The atmosphere is relaxed with music playing.. I heard Johnny Cash, Whitney Houston, and The Eagles!! Sounds like one of my playlists! Although we did not imbibe on this visit, the drinks and appetizers are always irresistible as well. Highly recommend!! There is a 20% to added to parties of 6 or more, but it’s right on the menu, so don’t be surprised or give them a hard time. They are telling you BEFORE you order. The server was excellent too. Very friendly and attentive. I always try to go there when I am in Versailles. 100% will continue to enjoy this little jewel in the middle of horse country!!

Would not go again!
We started with an appetizer of onion straws. They were good. We asked for some extra ranch for dipping them in and it was runny and tasteless. We were charged extra for the ranch, that’s understandable, but it would have been nice to have been told when we ordered it. We ordered the New Oleans pasta and a Philly cheesesteak (but with chicken). The pasta was ok, it was supposed to be spicy but it was just overly seasoned with black pepper. The bread stick with it was hard. The cheesesteak had no visible cheese on it and the hoagie bun was a dry, stale hotdog bun. The waiter asked if I would like something else so I ordered the fish and chips. I wish I hadn’t! The fish was very greasy, not just the batter coating it, but the actual fish too. The chips were hot though. The best thing about the fish and chips was the tartar sauce.

I had Philly Cheesesteak which is a bit on the salty side and my wife had Granny Smith Apple Salad. Both are good. The whole experience was just okay.

This is a very nice place to eat at! The building seemed to be a train station back in the day, so the layout is interesting and spacious. They have displays that show their drink options on giant chalkboard boards that have neat chalk art on it throughout the restaurant. The server we had was wonderful and really on top of it, very friendly. The food was great, and excellently cooked. The steak was very tender, pork was perfectly cooked, the club sandwich was delicious, and the catfish was excellent! The coleslaw I had was the perfect amount of tangy and flavor, and the fries were very nice (crinkled cut)! The cheese cake we got is perfect for sharing. The slice is quite large, and nice and dense. You do have the option of a chocolate or a caramel drizzle on top of it, too!

Great restaurant with attentive service!

I tried the Kentucky Hot Brown and it was wow good! My wife got the Granny Smith and really liked it. We plan to come back. Seems to be very popular and even though it was busy our food came out so fast it could have been fast food. Definitely recommend!

We were very impressed with the food at Ricardo’s! Our group ordered a little bit of everything — chicken wings, club sandwiches, potato skins, a wedge salad, steak, and onion strings — and every single dish was fantastic! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the pairing of fried banana pepper rings with cocktail sauce was such a fun, creative surprise.

The food definitely carried the experience, because the service fell a bit short. Our group of 12 was squeezed into a table meant for eight, and the overall energy from the staff felt low. Jose did a good job taking care of us, but in the service industry, a more genuine and engaging personality goes a long way. Maybe it was an off day or our group size felt intimidating, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

All in all, dinner was excellent from a food perspective, and the kitchen truly delivered!!

~Cheers

Stopped here a it was very close to our hotel. Great food, great atmosphere. Servers on their A game, didn’t have to wait for anything. We got the onion straw appetizer and it’s what onion rings wish they were. The shrimp and grits are to die for, best I’ve had in a really long time. Girlfriend got the New Orleans pasta and she absolutely loved it. Also a side of broccoli casserole was extremely good.

We were a party of 9 that mid order we decided we needed 3 tables to comfortably sit. Our waitress was the most efficient with that request and got I done before our drinks could.come. We all enjoyed our meals with the exception one plate was supposed to be chicken strips and it come out chicken salad. My friend had no problem taking the meal before Him. It is loud in there so saybyour order where they can hear it.
I enjoyed myself very much and we will return soon.

Our group of 4 dined in with no wait on a Tuesday evening prior to our ride with the Rail Explorers. We thought this restaurant would tie in perfectly with a visit to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum (which is conveniently located less than 10 minutes away) as it occupies the former Southern Railroad station. We are thankful that we chose to eat here as we were absolutely blown away by the service, speed, and quality of food. The Pub Nachos were a big hit with our table, and I greatly enjoyed my Chicken Philly. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Food is great. My husband loved his burger, and they had his beloved Mountain Dew so he was happy. I got the chicken salad croissant sandwich, paired with a Country Boy Keeneland Lager. So good!

My only complaint was the handicapped accessibility. The handicapped parking spaces are on one side of the building, but the ramp to get to the front door is all the way on the other. That’s a lot of walking for people with mobility limitations who aren’t wheelchair users.
