Social Profile:

RFD Franklin, located in the heart of historic downtown Franklin, features freshly prepared innovative cuisine based on traditional favorites. The name RFD Franklin is a tribute to the building’s postal heritage recognizing a time when “Rural Free Delivery” was a very important method of communication to unite the nation. The letters in the name of this mail system were purposefully incorporated into the motto of “Real Food, Fresh Dining”. Some have suggested the meaning could also be Reservations for Dinner!” For Reservations Please Call (317)-733-7333 (317) RFD-RFDF

Ambience was mediocre. It’s a neat space, but there’s something lacking. As far as food is concerned, it was actually very bland. The food came out cold. My filet was dry, mashed potatoes were dry. Pricing seemed astronomical for the quality, especially considering the modest portion size.

My husband I arrived at 5 PM when they opened. The building is cool. It’s definitely original with the decor. When we got there we were the only ones as they just opened. I ordered a sweet tea which I found out after she brought it that they don’t carry sweet tea, but unsweetened and they gave sweetener for it. That’s fine though. No biggie.

Tried this place for the first time this evening — the new higher-end, casually upscale dining venue in Franklin. Food was very good (we each got the 6 oz filet, plus asparagus and brussels sprouts as sides). Ordered the candied-bacon Deviled Eggs as an appetizer; they were good. Service was fairly good for a place only in its ninth night open; servers stopped by often to see if there were anything we needed. Iced tea was a bit cloudy for my taste and was never refilled during dinner, but those were minor issues compared to the overall quality of the meal. Building is a 1930s former post office and is decorated with appropriate postal accoutrements. Our bill for the two of us came to $50 plus tip, not bad for a meal of this type. Nice dinner — would return!

Seafood pasta very good. Burger condiments not prepared as I ordered including bun saturated with ketchup that I did not request. IGreat service and reasonable pricing.

This past Saturday night my wife and I brought another couple with us and as the three times before the food was absolutely incredible, the service was as good or better than we have ever had and every staff member was great to see and talk to. Kaitlin was our server and has been before and she was really a bright spot in our evening. After dinner Joellen gave us a tour and some history. The couple we brought back absolutely loved it too. Thanks for the great night, looking forward to coming back. Kenton and Andrea Yohey Christian Community Connect.

I had a wonderful meal tonight at RFD! The pork chop was marvelous, the chicken soup is to die for and the southwest eggroll appetizers are delicious. If you are lucky enough to get seated at one of Kailynn’s tables you are in for a treat. Her service is excellent and her charm and wit are even better

This new fine dining restaurant in Franklin is wonderful. The pasta special was very tasty and the steaks were enjoyed. The soup of the day was tasty but only lukewarm. Service was attentive and pleasant. We recommend this restaurant.

RFD was an excellent experience. The server was very attentive. The food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the seafood chowder. The restaurant setting was very unique being an old post office. I look forward to returning for supper in the near future.
