We walked over from our hotel and loved the cute, cozy ambiance. The service is very slow but relaxed—definitely not rushed, and they were happy to get us anything we needed. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re in a hurry. The risotto was tasty, though a bit mushier than expected. The pizza felt like a fancy American-style pie, but overall everything was good.

Very nice atmosphere but a little strange with the 3 Stooges playing on a projector in the dining room. Not a bad thing, just strange for an Italian restaurant in Costa Rica.
Service was on the slower side and felt a little reserved. Not bad just not attentive to the extent you’d expect.
Food was not bad but not excellent. Pizza was okay with good ingredients but the crust had no development at all.
Chicken Parm was also on the okay side and needed more sauce on the chicken.
Would like to have given them a 3.5 Star if possible.
If staying at the Marriott around the corner, it is within walking distance if you want to get off property.

This place is truly a 2 in 1 gem and my experience was excellent from start to finish. Il Cavallino and Jamon Jamon together make it incredibly easy to please everyone at the table.
The kids were thrilled with the phenomenal oven baked pizza and pasta from the Italian side, while the adults enjoyed an outstanding jamon platter paired with a crisp Albariño. The Madrid style tripe was exceptional and full of authentic flavor, and the oxtail was absolutely out of this world.
Great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a concept that genuinely works for families and food lovers alike. You will be missing out if you do not try it. Highly recommend!

Came here because we were staying at the Marriott and it was within walking distance. I ordered the margherita pizza and added on pepperoni, my partner had the ravioli with mushrooms. The pizza came out with large slices of half ripe greenish tomato on it, a handful of pepperoni slices on top and barely any cheese. The crust was the best part. Service was also lacking and felt like we were not welcome. The parmesan cheese was grated all over the table instead of just the pizza. The server tried to remove my partners plate before she was finished and placed my pizza tray closer on top of my napkin for no reason. The kicker was at the end when the bill had a charge of $6 USD for the added on pepperoni. I would recommend avoiding this “Restaurant”, not worth the money!

A great restaurant with delicious food. But what made our experience better was Nelson. Been traveling around Costa Rica for 30+ days and the difference of a great experience in a restaurant is the way you’re treated as a guest. I don’t think there are many like Nelson. Gold star

Wonderful Italian food, Wonderful service and great ambiance. The menu has a large selection of options whether you want pasta, fish, meat, or pizza! Great wine selection as well! Arrive hungry!

We had a very good experience, we were a large group and we ordered a lot of food to taste different plates, everything was served very fast and very delicious. The restaurant was full but they served the food in less than 20 min, and it was worth, each plate was very tasty from tapas, cheese, octopus, fried sea food, all the plates were good. The Main Courses were all served at the same time and all of them were amazing, the sauces of the meat and pasta were incredible and I ask for bread to clean my plate it was very good! From all the plates the Meat a la Nonna for me was the best, the meat was very tender the sauce was delicious, the tomahawk was the least because half of the meat was fat but it was good only that you can’t eat all that fat is not good. The potato chips were ok but i think that a puree or a roast potato will be better to have. The pastas were al dente and the sauces were very good! The roasted Octopus was very good and tender, not chewy and the roasted part was delicious! The desserts were also very good and sweet, they were ok nothing too exciting but the Tiramisu in a pot was a very funny presentation. Overall I think it is a really good restaurant with very tasty food. Highly recommended.

Very nice little restaurant. For lunch, it looks like it caters to the adjoining business complex. The server spoke some English, and I spoke some Spanish, so all good. The best octopus I have ever had. And I try to order it anywhere I see it. I got the one that has the clams with it. Just delightful. I walked there from the Marriott. There is a dedicated gate between the properties or you can take the street path. Not cheap but worth every penny. Or colones
