I came here by myself while on a work trip in DC and absolutely loved the food and service! While this was on the higher end, I wanted to have one nice dinner while here and this place satisfied everything I wanted! I ended up getting an elderberry drink, humus w/ pomegranate, and a lamb dish, all being fantastic! The overall atmosphere and restaurant was upbeat with low lighting, and I could see this being a nice place to come out for drinks and dinner with people or solo dining again in the future if I am back in DC.

Nice interior with the ceiling floral design. Great date-night spot. About $40 per person. Ordered 4 large plates (octopus, fish, risotto, etc) and they were all solid. The staff were friendly as well.

Had a very cute vibe-y Sunday morning brunch here with my family. We sat outside on the patio and loved all the decorations on the ceiling. Definitely stuffy in the summer though! Most importantly, all the food was delicious! We had the avocado toast, merguez and sweet potato hash, salmon toast, and quinoa bowl. And the bacon?! Wow, delicious. I’d love to come back and try more of the menu! Everything sounded great!

I had such a fantastic experience at Residents Bar & Café! The vibe and ambiance are exactly what I love — cozy, stylish, and welcoming, with a lively energy that makes you want to linger. The staff were attentive, and friendly.

I started with the Watermelon & Heirloom Tomato salad with Persian cucumber, feta, mint, and za’atar. This was my first time trying watermelon paired with tomatoes, and it completely exceeded expectations — refreshing, vibrant, and perfectly balanced.

Then came the Charred Octopus, and wow. With red chermoula, potato croquettes, lemon aioli, pickled cherry tomatoes, Aleppo pepper, and cilantro, every bite was bursting with flavor. It was so memorable that I’ve actually been recreating it at home every week — though nothing compares to how well it’s done here.

Between the food, drinks, service, and overall atmosphere, it was a memorable experience and I’m glad I can finally check it off my bucket list and add it my list of “I will be back”.

Came here for my best friend’s birthday brunch (visiting from out of town) and we had the best experience!! Brandon greeted us with the biggest smile and made us feel so welcome. Our server Erlin was so friendly and helpful, definitely ask for him! The vibes were great and the food was incredible definitely coming back whenever I’m in DC!

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was a letdown. They enforce a strict 2-hour dining limit, and when your time is up, the staff doesn’t hesitate to rush you out — it felt very disrespectful. The ambiance is great and the concept is trendy, but the service and hospitality are nowhere near what you’d expect for the price. We were told a large reservation was coming in and weren’t offered any alternative seating, even though we were willing to stay and continue ordering. Unfortunately, it ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening. There are many restaurants in this city that offer better service without the attitude — I wouldn’t return.

Excellent ‍ first experience at Residence Cafe & Bar! The drinks were perfectly balanced – the daiquiri and Thai basil. The shareable plates – gyros and fries – were the perfect starters. In fact, they were so good we decided to share an entree. We ordered the crab risotto and it was superior 10/10. We decided to keep the party going, so we ordered the passion fruit cheesecake… and oh was it a party alright. DELICIOUS. To top it all off, the service was excellent and the environment was so cute. Highly recommend checking out Residents Cafe & Bar if you are in the area!

Residents has done the impossible! For years my wife has tried to introduce various octopus based dishes and I’ve never been into it, until now. The charred octopus was delightful; perfectly cooked and thoughtfully executed with the chermoula, croquettes and aioli. 10/10. The mini gyros were also delicious and were equally well executed

Based on those two dishes I think it’s safe to assume everything on the menu is a hitter. Definitely one of the highlights from our recent trip and will certainly not be forgotten

Residents is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city! The drinks are amazing. Creative, well-balanced, and made perfectly every time. You can tell they really care about quality.

The food is just as impressive. Everything I’ve tried has been flavorful and well-presented. It’s the kind of place where you can actually enjoy a full dinner before the night picks up.

The atmosphere is what really sets it apart. The vibe is always on point with great energy, stylish crowd, and great music provided by their DJs on the weekends. Whether you’re going out with friends or just want a good night with good music, great food and drinks, Residents never disappoints.

Chic Breakfast Spot With a Healthy Kick

The watermelon & heirloom tomato salad was the standout — fresh, bright, and so addictive I’d order it again on its own. The Turkish eggs were creamy (a little spicy , so ask for less chili if you prefer mild), and the salmon toast with avocado and eggs was filling and flavorful. Pair it all with their Immune fresh-squeezed juice and great coffee, and you’ve got the perfect breakfast combo in DC.
