We went to a birthday party here. I think i expected more is a dive bar, but I was pleasantly surprised upon our arrival.
It’s very clean, everything looks new. Has a great sports bar vibe on the bar side and a restaurant vibe on the other.
The food was really good, came out fast.
I felt like the servers were frazzled, there was one very demanding person in our group, but they really did a pretty good job.

My husband and I were passing thru Remus and looking for someplace to eat breakfast. Stopped at Remus tavern. Serve was quick and friendly. The breakfast was THE BEST I have had in years. We will go out of our way to go back there again. Had the meat lovers omlette, biscuits and gravy, blueberry pancakes. And the price was way cheaper than we expected. Highly recommend!!

This tavern is exactly what you expect for small town Michigan. Service was great and the menu was extensive. Prices were moderate. Our food was piping hot and well seasoned. I had the smelt basket and my partner had the sirloin. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. They are serving Brix bottled root beer and cream soda. I loved that it was a Michigan brand and is now possibly my new favorite. We went for lunch and it was pretty quiet but I can see it being busy on the weekends or in the evening. They do have a secondary dining room that is a bit quieter. If I’m ever out this way again I would absolutely stop to eat here.

The food was good except for the lake perch. It’s their best seller. First of all it was eastern European Zander pike perch. Secondly the cook over fried it to where it was tough. We were in a hurry and I didn’t send it back. I’m sure they would have replaced my fish if I’d asked. However, the waitress never came back until we were finished and only then asked how our meals were. I wasn’t looking for a discounted price at that time so just said fine.

We got our drink quick the pop was watery. The fish was not cooked properly and smelt fishy and tasted the same way . The pulled pork nachos were less than desirable and way overpriced. I would not recommend this place to eat . If you are passing through Remus goto the next town and take your chances there .
