This place offers flavorful and authentic Thai food, definitely recommend. Started with shrimp salad rolls with peanut sauce and thai iced tea which was amazing. My friend had the veggie cashew nut dish and I had the beef drunken noodles (Pad see ew). The portions are on point, you won’t leave hungry. Service was very prompt, wasn’t busy in the middle of the day.

Red Onion is a nice restaurant! The staff was very friendly. Our order came quickly and was nice and hot. And the food tasted fresh. I rated the atmosphere a 3 only because it’s nothing to write home about. Very plain. (If you’re into the atmosphere experience, this may not be the place for you.) Otherwise, craving Thai? I would recommend it!

A solid place to go for lunch when in the NW 23rd area. The place has a decent lunch menu and reasonable prices. The portions are healthy and great for sharing. The service is attentive and quick. The Drunken Noodles and Chinese Susage Fried Rice were worth ordering over the Tom Yum Noodle Soup in my opinion.

Service was very quick and good. But food was on the sweeter side. Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups were very tasty. Pad thai, green curry and poo ja were very very good. We also ordered pad kee mao which was a little too sweet. Basil fried rice was sweet too, but not as sweet as pad kee mao. All vegetable pieces were extremely big, so be careful with ordering vegetables in your dish. Sticky rice with mango was okayish, rice was a little too hard. Overall, it was a good meal with quick service.

Food is typically good here, solid Pad Thai, great crab cakes, and drinks. Not over priced. This time, I had veggies and peanut sauce, “the emerald”. The veggies were super soggy, with no flavor and lots of excess water on the plate from the boiled veggies. I had to actually drain it, kinda gross. Eeh. Peanut sauce is very good.

We had the pineapple fried rice, sausage fried rice, and egg rolls. Tasted very fresh, excellent flavor and ingredients. We generally prefer a higher spice level, and they didn’t have any chili oil or hot sauce, only red pepper flakes. It was also freezing inside, but better than too hot!

I’ve going to this restaurant for years. It always has delicious food and the ambiance is nice. The setting is more intimate than Thai Bloom and the seasoning of the food is savory and delicious, not cloyingly sweet like some Thai restaurants. I would definitely recommend it.

We have been in search of good Thai take out since our favorite place in NW, eSan Thai off NW Thurman, closed down awhile back. But every time we order from some place new, we are sadly disappointed… until tonight.

Food was absolutely delicious. We had a mid afternoon lunch/dinner: tom kha soup, beef salad, and lemongrass chicken. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh and hot, very flavorful. The service was great, the beef and chicken were perfectly cooked and tender, and the peanut sauce is so good. There were not many people there, so it was fairly quiet, except the music was a little too loud – I know, we’re too old! Would definitely go back there again.
