We ate at the Red Horse Tavern on our first night to Middleburg, then ordered takeout another night. We really enjoyed the overall experiences at this establishment. The service and food were great during our visit. The sandwich options are amazing, which is why we went back for more!

Nice local tavern which serves beer, wine, and bar food. The staff is friendly and welcoming and are very quick. Ive eaten here on two occasions and have gotten the steak and cheese, the burger, mozzarella sticks, and the fries. The prices here are fair and the portions are not huge, but just right. I usually come in here after a long day of riding my bike on the surrounding gravel roads that loudoun county has to offer. The atmosphere is like your typical sports bar or tavern. I highly recommend this spot if you’re in town and you’re looking for a casual bite to eat. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as being a kid-friendly establishment.

We were in the area and found Red Horse Tavern. I’m so glad that we did! Right when we walked onto the patio, we were greeted immediately by a hostess/server who, though she was very busy with other customers, was extremely friendly and courteous. Never once did she act like she was frustrated or overwhelmed.

This place has amazing service, our waiter was on top of things the whole time! The food was really delicious. I got the Alpine burger and fries and a side salad. Definitely recommend. My husband got the wings and they were very yummy as well. The fries are some of the best I’ve had in a long time, super crispy potato perfection! My mother in law and father in law both got the salmon and said it was perfectly cooked and would get it again. We also had the coffee cake for dessert and let me tell you, get the coffee cake!! It was the best coffee cake I’ve ever had !!Highly recommend this place if you are in middleburg!

I’ve happily been here many times, but our dinner was terrible yesterday. The food was bad and the service was worse. Since we were a party of 6, we didn’t get to show our disappointment in the tip, nor did they care to ask. They lost our appetizer order, the food was awful, and we went for long periods of time between drink refills and checking on us. The number of staff was not the problem. It was the same number as always, but when we asked, we were told there’s 25 other tables. Really?
