Wow!! What a gem in Smithville. Food was delicious and all the staff was very friendly. We got the lobster roll, Cajun fries and crab legs. One of the best lunches we’ve had in awhile. Can’t wait to go back next weekend!

We will be back! Update: We went back and tried the seafood gumbo, bayou pasta, and Cajun fries. Everything was fresh & amazing. Best chefs & host in town!

First time here after hearing about it from neighbors in Bastrop. I’ll be back. Marshal, the owner, was very welcoming, gave us complimentary crab legs appetizer while we waited for our entrees. Sweetest crab I ever had. Terrence, the chef, really knows what he’s doing. Photo is my Bayou Pasta; delicious and generous portion. Smithville and Bastrop County really need this outstanding eatery. Look for Red Claw Seafood Brick & Stick location coming in Feb ’22.

Loved the food from the beginning, the service not so much. Decided to wait to return once they had opened their brick and mortar restaurant. Made reservations a week early for our 40th anniversary dinner on Saturday. They texted me on Friday to confirm, which I did. Got there Saturday and they were closed. No heads up, no notice, nothing!! Finally got a hold of the owner on FB the following day hoping for an explanation. He was angry and basically said I was “an entitled asshole” and then blocked me. I will not return and will not refer them ever again!!

I supported the Red Claw when they ran the operation out of a food truck. Food was great then. My experience tonight going to their brick and mortar location not so much. I was informed it requires a membership fee of $75 dollars. The lady who address me didn’t even try to sell me one. Seating is limited so plan ahead. Personally there are other fine places to eat around Smithville and Bastrop that don’t require membership. If that your thing, please go, and enjoy.

Attempted to go to the restaurant at 4:15pm after waiting for 30 minutes to open and were completely ignored by the 2 people inside the restaurant! Wouldn’t open the door or give explanation or anything. I later made a post telling verbatim what happened on Facebook and the moderator of the restaurant page blocked me! A simple apology would have sufficed but apparently they can not handle any kind of negative criticism even if it is completely warranted. Well…I was going to give it another shot but after this I think I won’t be going there and I’ll be sure and let everyone I know what kind of experience I had with Red Claw

Visited for the first time with my family on yesterday. It was about 13 of us but they showed so much hospitality and served some very tasteful, good valued food! Everything was fresh and they took the time to tend to each and every one of us individually. This place is now a must-have when we visit. Can’t believe we drove past it so many times prior to lol. Glad we discovered it!

All I can say is, WOW! I have been trying to catch them open for awhile and finally did today. I ordered a grilled and a fried shrimp po boy. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and they didn’t skimp on the portions, we also really enjoyed the nice spicy kick. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. We will be regulars for sure. Sorry I devoured the grilled one before I even thought about a picture.
