We are a modern restaurant housed in an automotive garage that dates back to the 1940s. During that pre-interstate period of America, people and families often traveled across storied highways such as Route 40, Lincoln Highway or Route 66, encountering regional foods and a variety of cultural influences along the way. In that spirit, our seasonal menu is a ‘road trip’ that explores some of those mid-western, southern, south-western, and western dishes and techniques. Just like a garage, we tinker with and adjust them to put together something that will make your trip to see us memorable.

Favorite: Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. This is not Nashville Hot in name only, this sandwich means business!
Second Fav: The fish sandwich is huge!
Food arrived quickly and hot. Portions are large enough you could take half home if you can manage to stop eating it.
I visited Rear End again and gave them another try.
Updating my review: Food 4 ⭐ (from 3), Service & Atmosphere 5 ⭐ (from 4). I’m keeping my overall rating -4 ⭐.
My recent visit was better than my last, almost a year ago. Service was politer and more attentive. The food was less greasy and tasted much better. I really enjoyed the onion straw appetizer.

Rear End is in a great location. They have a great atmosphere and they are fun to visit. I’ve been there a handful of times. My first visit when they first opened, I thought the food was great! Since then it has been okay. Their drinks are too strong for me. On my most recent visit we tried the special appetizer of fried plantains. They were not so good. Greasy and a bit burnt on one side. I also had the chicken tenders and fries. They were very good. Probably the only thing I would order there again.
Highly recommend the spicy margarita and sample a few beers to pick your favorite!
