Arrived right at 4pm on a Friday(Oct) and within 10 min all table were occupied. Food was delightful! Crab cake was very good, fries shrimp was yummy , hush puppies were scrumptious and Coleslaw was great!

The décor is “nice,” but it’s also random and does nothing to cover up the bigger issues here.
My party of two agreed to sit at the back bar to avoid the wait for a table, and we instantly regretted it. Our seats were surrounded by staff clutter—personal coffee cups from dunkin, water bottles, and even a Sonic cup parked right in front of me like it belonged there. I attempted to discreetly take a picture of all the clutter but only managed to get the sonic cup in one of my pictures. From where we sat, we also had a perfect view of the kitchen, which looked like an absolute disaster zone, and immediately made me question the cleanliness and care being put into the food. That alone should’ve been a red flag.
Because of the lack of cleanliness, I decided to play it safe and ordered a hotdog while my guest decided to gamble on the shrimp. We also got hushpuppies, which were fine, but that’s where the positives ended. My hotdog and bun looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days—I’d trust a gas station roller dog over this one. The shrimp were rubbery and bland. The seasoning was just dumped onto a few shrimp instead of them being evenly coated. Total waste of money. The fries were undercooked, practically raw in the middle. The only thing I felt remotely safe eating was the sealed cup of Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce.
To make matters worse, the plates they brought us still had soap suds on them. I don’t know what chemicals they’re using to clean their dishes, but the thought of eating off a plate with visible suds was unsettling. I was so taken aback by this.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the staff decided to celebrate a birthday for someone they seemed to know—right on top of me while I was trying to eat. They plopped down a Smith Island cake, lighter, and box directly in front of my meal, left it there, and didn’t bother to move it until after they helped themselves to cake. Professionalism clearly isn’t a priority here.
Between the clutter, the poor presentation, the careless staff, and the questionable food, this place will not be one I would recommend coming to even if the food was free.

It did take a while to get seated, not holding that against them because they were very busy. Just prepare to wait. The inside is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Service was frustrating once seated though. They forgot our silverware, our cups were empty for a while a well. We had ordered Halibut and it was undercooked. It took a while to get a server to take them back. Food was great though.

UPDATE/EDIT: They have the best crab cakes i have ever had! Of course we had to stop in again after we were so happy with our meal the other day. A little pressed for time today so only did a dish each with no apps. I had the broiled crab cakes and wow! Chock full of crab! My boyfriend got the blackened swordfish and practically inhaled it. We were so happy to have the same waitress again! Denise is welcoming and attentive. We can’t wait til our next visit to ESVA!
What a phenomenal meal! My boyfriend and I shared an appetizer of drum ribs which were lightly fried and so tender! I ordered the broiled scallop platter that came with 3 hushpuppies, coleslaw, and a garden salad – fantastic! My scallops were broiled beautifully. Like candy My boyfriend got a beautiful and generous piece of blackened Mahi Mahi with the same sides as me. We got lucky and came at the right time! We were seated immediately. Overall a delicious and thoroughly enjoyed lunch! I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Found this place on the way home from Virginia Beach. I’m glad that we stopped here. The food was really good and the price is very reasonable. The service was excellent. They brought the food very fast. The steamed shrimp was very fresh, cooked perfectly and huge size of shrimp. The soft shell crab was so big and delicious. In addition, the price is very reasonable. I should’ve had 2 of those the clam strip was really good too. I like the fresh cut French fries that come with it. I definitely go back here when I’m in the area.

Hush puppies were huge and amazing. Im not a hush puppy fan, but these puppies were crispy outside, firm and tasty inside. Manhattan clam chowder was fresh and tasty. The fried oysters were so generous…obviously fresh and not frozen. Cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. Deep fried mushrooms also tasted fresh and not frozen. Wish we found this place on the first day of the trip and not the last. The wait staff was friendly and service was impeccable. Highly recommend!

Great place! Staff was so friendly and attentive. Food was incredible – we had the crab dip, which was delicious, and I ordered the broiled combo- I have never been served so many scallops in one meal in my life! There had to be at least 15 each of scallops and shrimp! Seasoned and cooked perfectly! The price for that meal was very reasonable too! The hush puppies were also fantastic. Next time we’re in the area I will definitely go back!

Speed: 5⭐ holy cow this place was BUSY. We waited an hour but once seated we had drinks and hush puppies immediately and the food wasn’t far behind. Food came out surprisingly fast. 40 minutes from seating to finish.
Ambience: 4⭐ a little loud but cute and kitchy.
Well worth the drive, time and money.

Great! Seems like they’ve been putting on a show forever, get one big soft shell crab, relaxed environment, cozy, other than the dim lights which made us want to snooze after the good food, all is awesome, hushpuppies are built diff here they’re the best never had some that big (ayo)

We stopped in for lunch yesterday and the service, food and atmosphere were all excellent! It was not too crowded early afternoon on a Saturday. Immediately loved the environment, and we were greeted with friendly service. All the food was delicious. We started with some steamed clams for the table, very good. I had the steamed shrimp which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife had a shrimp salad sandwich and was raving how good it was. The children’s menu has good options both seafood and non. My daughter had clam strips and my son had a hot dog. They both left happy. And can’t forget the hush puppies. Amazing!!
