Overall, our new favorite spot!
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience, Mereli, we loved it and will be back.
Food was delicious, well prepared (even the tripe!), and presentation was beautiful. I travel all over the country for work, and this was a memorable one.
I also tried the empanadas not pictured, and those were also super good.
Being vegetarian, I know Ecuadorian menus are not always designed with me in mind, but the staff here were willing and able to accommodate whatever I asked for and turn dishes into something I could enjoy. That kind of flexibility means a lot when the menu is built around traditional recipes.
The owner, is a genuinely cool guy. He made sure to come by and check that everything tasted good, and he even spoke with me about Ecuador and recommended some must see places for my trip there in the new year. That kind of personal connection made the meal feel less like a restaurant stop and more like sharing food with friends.
One of the things I really appreciated was that they serve guanabana. I first had guanabana in Ecuador and fell in love with it, and it is hard to come by here in the us unless you’re somewhere deeply connected to the culture. Offering something like that tells me they care about authenticity.
They also tolerated my Spanish, which always wins points with me since I am learning the language. I didn’t feel judged at all and was able to practice without pressure.
If you’re looking to try something a bit different and genuinely delicious, be sure to stop in here. And another highlight I didn’t expect was the coffee. It was freshly ground and from Ecuador, and it had that rich, Andean kind of flavor that stayed with me long after the cup was gone.
Nothing is perfect anywhere, even though the service was amazing and I loved my visit and will be back. If I had to offer one small suggestion, I would love to see locro de papa added to the menu. I ate locro de papa every day in Ecuador and definitely missed it here.
See you soon
All dishes we ate were very delicious, if you are around PA this restaurant is so close to the Poconos Area so getting there was not a problem.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to taste authentic Ecuadorian food.
