Our first stop in Hawaii after catching my high school basketball game was at Ramen Ya in Ewa. These restaurants offer a variety of local comfort food and you can do combos if you can’t make up your mind. We had pan fried gyoza as an appetizer. I haven’t had Mochiko chicken so thats what I ordered… plates in Hawaii usually come with white rice and macaroni salad. My son ordered the spicy ramen. The portions are huge so you have to have a big appetite or you’re taking leftovers home. The food was very good, we eat here every time we visit, my son ate here all the time when he was stationed at Hickam AFB. The restaurant is not very big and its no frills decorated which is standard for these kind of restaurants. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the prices for Hawaii are good. Definitely recommend this place if you’re hungry….

Great spot to grab some good food! Nothing too expensive either so you could order multiple dishes if you wanted. Good atmosphere and the customer service was excellent. Not crowded at all and I went during lunch. This is definitely a go-to if you’re in the area and wanting some good Asian food!

Ramen Ya is mine and my husband’s go to spot for lunch,it’s reasonably priced. In fact I haven’t noticed much of a price jump unlike everywhere else. The food is always amazing. I’ve been to this particular location twice, and it’s no exception. The food is top notch, the service is fast and the restaurant is nice and clean. Today I tried the seafood crispy noodles and ,wow! It’s delicious and the portion is HUGE,I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely come here if you haven’t, its worth it.

Good Ramen and Curry options. Their combination options are fairly priced. A favorite of ours is combo A: small Ramen with 4 gyoza on the side and either the katsu or beef curry. A comfortable atmosphere with friendly service and lots of free parking.

I ordered the spicy beef ramen. The shredded carrots looked like they came out of a salad bag, and the corn out of the cheapest can. After already being disappointed and about 5 bites in I found a cockroach the size of my finger nail in the dish. I almost immediately threw up and got up and told the lady I’m not paying and to check out this roach. Her immediate response was sorry and I just walked out. I get that roaches are everywhere in Hawaii, but this isn’t acceptable for a 4.4 out 5 establishment.

Good food with large portions and prices are not as high as many competitors around. Service is top notch h as they had several check-ins and quick service. Atmosphere is average with dining and plenty of seating.

So it is ramen. It is also much better than daiichi ramen. That said it is average level ramen. Some of the booths at Shirokiya have better. Noodles were not chewy enough and the broth which should be the highlight of the dish was honestly disappointing. The meat was a bit tough, chewy, and a bit salty. The egg which should be soft boiled in the center was hard boiled. It is better then the stuff you will make at home, but is not the religious experience that I have had in Japan at some of the hole in the wall places I like. As for the fried rice, pass on it. The gyoza was not bad a 4/5 good flavor but they should use a bit of egg/flour so the center ingredients hold together better.

More value for money! Awesome food, big savory portions! It’s also a family-friendly place! They recently added toys and a stuff toy vending machine for the little ones. If you are dining in, the ambiance is cozy, they have their own restroom. Tables are big and can accomodate bigger groups if needed. I always order from them either from Uber Eats or in-person at the restaurant for dine-in or take out! Staff is very friendly! I love going to this restaurant. It’s also close to Long’s and Foodland so if you have errands to run, everything is in one location! 🙂
