I ordered one of their lunch specials which was 3 sushi rolls with a side salad or soup
For $14 it’s a great deal
Hiked the spicy salmon roll the best
It appeared freshly made and stored nicely in the box with enough wasabi and soy sauce! Chopsticks were also included(not the ones in the picture those are my own)
– I ordered out, and they had my order ready in 8 minutes. Nice that I didn’t have to wait the 30 minutes they estimated.
– I ordered two specialty rolls (Grasshopper and One Night in Kyoto), two salads with ginger dressings, and a clear and miso soup. All tasted AMAZING! I would definitely recommend those rolls if you like raw fish, lots of flavor, and some heat!
– fair prices! I hate paying more than $4 for a small bowl of soup, and these were $3. The rest of the rolls were not too expensive, and had a moderately diverse menu of sushi.
– the ginger dressing for the salad was delish (which I’m kind of picky about)
Cons:
– I ordered out to take to my boyfriend’s house after work, and when I got to his house, we noticed there was no silverware/chopsticks or napkins included. Okay nbd. Then I noticed they did not include soy sauce packets which was a pain because my boyfriend didn’t have any at home (I know, I need to train my man better). THEN, I noticed my sushi did not have wasabi or ginger! What?! How do you forget that! I’m assuming it’s because they rushed my order and had it done so quick that they forgot it.
– I’ll attach a photo, but the display of the sushi was somewhat confusing. It looks like the two rolls were kind of mixed together on one side, so I didn’t know which one I was eating.
– we ended up running to Cub to grab some soy sauce and wasabi paste which cost us another $10 unnecessarily. We had to re-bowl and re-heat the soups because of this delay.
– the containers that the soups were in were not your normal containers you often get at Asian takeout restaurants. The quality is similar to a clear drink cup you’d get at chipotle: thin and flimsy. It actually leaked in the bag, and broke through the paper sack. Luckily it didn’t make a major mess and we were still able to drink them.
Overall, giving it a 4/5 because the food was great, the display and takeout conditions were not. I would recommend only eating there, not taking out. Or if you do, I recommend asking for the soy sauce packets/chopsticks/wasabi/ginger when you pick up.
