Really friendly staff. Decent food. Not as good as Albuquerque but it was good. Very convenient that it was in our hotel. Would definitely eat here again.

I stayed 2 nights at Hotel Encanto and visited Garduno’s several times. The margaritas were awesome. The breakfast was perfect. But the best part was how awesomely friendly the staff is. Erica and Monica really went over and above every time I was there.

If you are looking for someplace to dine during the pandemic that offers outdoor dining, a great ambience and specular food, try MEZCLA in the Hotel Encanto. Their friendly staff, excellent service and culinary delights make it the perfect place to enjoy a little time away from home. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast and are looking forward to trying more of Chef Spring’s unique menu items.

Apparently, the restaurant has new management and staff because the food quality is out of this world. One of the diners in our group is a former chef and even he was impressed with how well the kitchen team prepared and served our meals. My small group of six people enjoyed several entrees from the menu and we taste-tested each others food. Everything was delicious! The drinks were spectacular, especially the margaritas! Wow! Service was terrific too. All in all, we had a wonderful dining experience and I will continue to recommend this well-kept-secret to my closest friends.

Half my food was cold. Fridge cold not even like it had been sitting out. Beans were incredibly salty, couldn’t even eat them. Sat for an hour before we got an order placed and never were asked for a refill for the almost 2 hours we were there. There were only about 4 tables of people. Others were also complaining about their orders. Now I know why this place was empty on Valentine’s day.

It looks like this place has some bad press, but to me it didn’t seem anything special at either end. As others noted we ate here because it was in the hotel, but everything was still acceptable. Service was average and to be honest so was the food. They were pretty busy due to a local event and they still were able to keep up and check on us frequently. The star was the margaritas. The on the rocks ones were made by hand and with fresh citrus. Maybe not the best place I have ever been, but hardly a one star experience. Be realistic folks.

My husband and I decided to eat here on a Sunday evening. We ordered vegetable fajitas. No cheese and no sour cream. We also ordered their rojo and green chili salsa. The green chili salsa was great. We asked if the kitchen could add any extra veg, if possible to the fajitas. They did great. It had lots of color and was fresh. Unfortunately the beans had cheese on it. Plus the rice had what seemed like frozen peas and carrots in the dish. Quiet atmosphere only because it is inside a hotel.

Our party of 7 arrived at 6:40pm on a Monday night, and only three tables in the entire restaurant were occupied. Yet, when there was no one to seat us, we should have turned around and went elsewhere, because the night would only go downhill. We order at about 6:50pm and our food doesn’t arrive until 8:10pm, despite the restaurant being almost empty. In the meantime, our chips and salsa and waters were never refilled. When the food came, every plate (except the fajitas) were cold! We sent most of plates back, except for those who were too hungry to wait any longer and just ate cold food. Another 30 minutes go by before our food finally comes back out. We ask for the food to be boxed up because we have to leave at this point, and we ask to speak with a manager. The manager apologizes but proceeds to say that because we ordered 6 of the seven dishes vegetarian, “they did not have to be hot…” (!!!!) and the chicken dish, “was 150 degrees so it was fine.” Just insane. That night and the next morning, every single person from our party was sick. The health department needs to take a look at this horribly run establishment. NEVER EAT HERE!!!

We dined at La Posta in downtown Mesilla a few weeks ago and today we dined at Garduno’s of Mexico and ended up ordering the same items on the menu. What’s interesting about that is this:

Awesome quality food……. when it gets to you. Took 45 minutes to get served, asked for steak cooked medium, came well done and had to wait for new steak and we were the only customers. Our drinks took 30 minutes, why? I don’t know. And when our drinks came, mine wasn’t even the right order
