We had dinner for two on a Friday at 5:00 p.m. Service was good, knowledgeable and helpful. We got the crab salad appetizer which was excellent, Bento box and Raku roll sushi. Everything was prepared right and tasted delicious. Serving size on a Bento Box is for two unless you have a large appetite. Be aware. Great overall selection of sushi, ramen and Japanese.

This place is very good and the staff is also great! The “outside” patio room (which is really just a room with floor to ceiling windows) is really pretty and a nice spot. I have not sat inside yet because I just like the brightness and feel of that enclosed patio room. The sushi is very good (and this is coming from a NYC gal). Normally we get a bunch of rolls to share but this time my parents and I got the sushi boat and it was delish. We don’t like soft shell crab – and you can’t substitute which was a bummer so we just left that one roll and didn’t eat it. Our server overheard me talking and must have heard me mention it was my dad’s birthday or heard me say happy birthday while we were toasting with our Sake but they surprised us with a birthday dessert with a candle. It was super cute. Every time I fly in this is a must stop on the way to or from the airport!

My wife, our 6-month-old, and I ate here last night and it was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, which made dining out with a baby much easier. The service was quick and attentive without ever feeling rushed.
The food was excellent—fresh sushi, flavorful ramen, and great portions at a fair price. Everything tasted like it was made with care. The atmosphere was cozy and family-friendly but still had that nice modern vibe.

All my rolls had medocire-bad fish. Like, brown, slimy, bad smelling, discoloured fish. The salmon was melting in my fingers. Lived in Florida and would make fish myself, never seen anything like this before. The sanitation ratings low, which was a red flag to me. I called them about it, and they just brushed off the concerning colour of their fish and tried convincing us it was okay. Even after our call, they were messaging us STILL trying to convince us this fish was okay.They didn’t even get half of our order right to begin with. When I asked for a refund they argued and eventually could only offer a gift card. I will never eat here again.

Raku has amazing and fresh sushi as well as delicious appetizers and Ramen bowls. If you’re looking for a weekend, dinner option, date night, or family celebration, this is a great restaurant to dine at!
The service is always exceptional! This past visit, one of our sushi menus with our selections got misplaced. When the food came out and we realized ours was not prepared, they put in a rush order and got it out to us as quick as possible!
We have enjoyed every experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for sushi and Ramen!

I had a lovely time tonight 🙂 my partner and I got the shrimp shumai and black garlic ramen! They were both fantastic! I’ve ordered take-out from here many times and have always been very pleased! Service was excellent! My partner has a severe food allergy and they were very communicative and accommodating. Best ramen in the area, hands down!

I tend to come here for the ramen. Sadly the past year has been so hit or miss. Its very clear they went to a much lower quality ramen noodle than before. The pork belly is more like a steak now than a tender ramen pork belly should be. Today was one of my worst soups, I pulled out so much seaweed it absolutely ruined my meal. It seems they just dont have chefs that care about the balance of flavors on a consistent basis.

I am certainly no expert, just a regular guy who loves good food and is obsessed with Japan, and I have eaten at many sushi establishments from small town hidden gems in the mountains, to some of the more authentic restaurants run by chefs from or having trained in Japan (see Jinya Ramen and Futo Buta [RIP]), to even the family run Sushi Tsune [RIP] in Raliegh with its hand written hiragana and romanji menu run by a small Japanese family (the best i’ve personally ever had). Somehow Raku ranks among the better ones I’ve had.
Raku’s sushi is always delicious and they don’t feel the need to drown their rolls in condiments like many lesser sushi establishments, their ramen is fantastic and has a excellent balance of toppings, my only gripe being their Ajitsuke eggs are often fully cooked, but still delicious all the same. If you’ve read any of my other reviews you’ll know anything more than a sentence or two is either high praise, or my attempt at public shaming; this is the best I can muster for high praise.
My personal favorite is the black garlic tonkotsu, and the eel sushi (nigiri), and their hot sake is quite pleasant, i always forget to ask what brand/bottle it is.
Perhaps I view this place through rose colored glasses, but my spouse and I find it worth the 1hr 45min trip from where we live just to eat here, especially if we don’t want to endure the insanity of Charlotte.

We were a group of 20 in to celebrate a birthday. Some appetizers did not come out as appetizers, they came out with dinner. Some didn’t come at all. One ordered eel, it was served raw and when attention was brought to this, the person that ordered it was asked to wait just a minute only for nothing to have ever been done about it. Had to get it taken off the bill. One couple did not get their food, they had to ask if they were going to get it, with a surprised look on her face, the server said, you did not get it? Some of the food was cold, some room temp, not hot as it should have been. When serving the dishes the server(s) had to ask who ordered what; it was so unorganized and chaotic. When ready to check out the server had to go around to everyone to verify what they had, then had to go re-enter each order back in to ring up the 8 tickets. This took over an hour for her to just do that so we could pay. Worst service, we will not return. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR LARGE GROUPS, they cannot work a party efficiently.
