Best spot in Poultney to grab a bite! A cozy house turned restaurant that offers all-day breakfast and lunch options after 10:30-11 AM(day dependent). Trailblazer and egg croissant pictured, hot cinnamon roll to-go! Breakfast for four came to less than $40, you can’t find deals like this anymore

Such a welcoming stop for a delicious bite to eat. Stopped by on Saturday, and was welcomed by friendly staff immediately. The staff was moving and grooving to accommodate a full house, and they did it with smiles, patience and timeliness. Restaurant was clean, food was amazing and the prices can’tbe beat. Plenty of parking on a cute main street with great shopping. Definitely check this spot out!!!

Great breakfast at the Rail Trail Eatery over 4th July weekend. Inside is a bit of a maze but lots of tables, friendly staff and good menu options. I had the sausage & gravy Benedict on a biscuit- yummy. My husband had the hash. I won. Well worth stopping in.

Finally got into the Rail Trail Eatery for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Got the 3 meat and cheddar omelette and it was one of the better omelettes I’ve had. Cute atmosphere and very courteous staff.

(Ordered breaded chicken burger.) I was pleasantly surprised at the homey atmosphere and style, even if it was a bit cramped and loud inside due to the smaller rooms. The food was excellent (although it was a cheaper chicken patty, it was fresh veggies and a great roll), and the menu options were diverse, as well as a lower price than expected! The care visibly seen by the hosts made the experience one worth coming back for, as well as to sample some of their other options. It’s a long drive, but if I’m ever coming by that way again, I’ll stop by!

Had a great time visiting this new restaurant since I last was in Poultney. After hours of mountain bike riding on the Slate Valley Trails, our group was famished. The owner Steve was lovely and the food was delicious. Afterwards he asked for our input on how to install some bike racks he purchased to accommodate all the visiting riders. Will visit again soon.

Being in Lake St. Catherine over the last few days and we did breakfast here one morning. Great service, great tasting and diverse menu at very fair prices. Living in Chittenden County I can tell you that nothing up here compares to this gem

What a little gem! We wanted to try something different and saw this place online. Even though it was a 40 minute drive for us, it was certainly worth the trip. Everything was cooked perfectly and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is great, in a beautiful little town!

My first time here, even though I don’t live that far away. But I’m an old man and I like old-fashioned places with good food. They have excellent food at reasonable prices, and friendly staff. I will definitely be back next time I’m going through Poultney.

My wife, her father, and I went here this morning for breakfast. Our favorite NY breakfast place was closed, so we picked this from Google maps based on its high ratings and relatively close proximity. Coincidentally, it’s where my wife’s mother went to Green Mountain College (now Green Mountain Community School) in 1947-1948. Fortunately they have an easy to use entrance ramp, which my father in law needed because he uses a walker. Once inside, it was easy to get around with his walker. The waitress Cheryl was very accommodating and helpful. We were served drinks, coffee (from Speeder and Earls of
Burlington VT, if I remember correctly) and water, quickly. My father in law ordered a cheese and bacon omelet with toast. My wife got the California Omelet special (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and cheese) with toast and hash browns. I ordered a single (huge!) pecan pancake with real VT maple syrup with eggs over easy and sausage patties. Our food came out quickly and was great. Cheryl checked in us frequently as well as the folks in the kitchen. It’s a very comfortable and welcoming place with great food, coffee and service. We highly recommend Rail Trail Eatery!
