I stopped by R.P. McMurphy’s for lunch and had a really enjoyable experience! The restaurant has a classic, old-school pub vibe — cozy interior with historic charm and friendly staff that make you feel welcome right away.
For lunch, I ordered their famous chicken salad sandwich and it was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The menu has plenty of variety, from salads and sandwiches to more substantial entrees, so there’s something for just about everyone.
Service was attentive — our server checked in regularly and made sure we had what we needed. The pace of food coming out was solid for a midday meal too. What really stood out was the balance between comfort food and creative options, which made lunch feel both satisfying and a bit special.
Overall, a solid choice for lunch if you’re in downtown Wyandotte. Would definitely come back!

I am extremely disappointed with the service after wait 50 minutes to be seated and to watch the hostess reach over and tell another group that came in after us they will take care of them. We watched them change them on the list to and take them back. I then asked them how much longer would the wait be and they told me they had no idea because they had four more reservations coming in. I then asked why would you tell me 30 minutes, I know the hostess were only doing their job, but to take people that came in after our group and saw them placed on the waitlist. As much as we enjoyed that place being treated unfairly lost our business.

This place is so warm and comforting walking in. The decorations are elegant and beautiful for Christmas. Tabi’s service was exceptional. I got the shrimp scampi, which was incredible. 10/10! Hubs got the penne dish 9/10. The chicken tenders and mac n cheese were also ordered and tasted 10/10. The french onion soup, I basically inhaled before thinking of getting a photo. Was 9/10. I love that all of everything was perfectly portioned as well! Will most definitely be back to try new items on the menu!!

The wife and I finally got out and had our anniversary dinner last night and it was so nice. She had the perch and i had the shrimp picante w a side of cole slaw. I discovered that a non-alcoholic Moscow mule existed and I loved it. The food was absolutely phenomenal, even the veggies were BOMB! 5 food, service and ambiance. Its a bit pricey but id definitely recommend for anyone looking for a special place for a special occasion.

The perch dinner was fantastic and the owner took 2 minutes of his time to talk to me on my way out. As a business owner that’s the best kind of marketing there is. It gives a guy a personal connection to the business, and I hope a lasting connection for the owner as well.

Thought this place was respectable with honest staff, but after what I just witnessed, that’s a hard hell no. We’ve been going there for years but that’ll never happen again. After waiting 30 min, I heard the hostess speak to a elderly woman who didn’t want to wait anymore, so she moved our party to accommodate them. Once confronted the hostess got defensive and made up reservations accusations. Not realizing I actually heard her talking with the woman. Regardless, we’ll never go there again, sad to say.

Wonderful bar/restaurant in downtown Wyandotte, MI. Hubby and I grew up in this city, but moved out in 80’s to north Oakland County, then Southwest FL. Have family in this area. Here for Christmas season and decided to come to downtown Wyandotte for dinner. This small, bar/restaurant has old-world decor, including murals on the wall. But nothing old-world with the food! The French onion soup prior to the entree was excellent. Both of us had tenderloin medallions in house-made zip sauce. The steak was perfect temp (med. rare as we ordered). Asparagus was the side veg and was nicely grilled. To finish off the meal, we had a moist carrot cake with the best cream cheese frosting and ice cream. To top it off, had a very nice server, Jessie. Very sweet and attentive. Eating here made us a bit homesick. Thanks R.P.’s for our “memory lane” dinner!
