For the price, you would expect somewhat fresh food. The shrimp were very obviously frozen, then cooked again turning them to freezer burnt rubber. The crawfish etoufe was goopy, like it had been cooked a few days ago. The rice was crunchy like it had been in the warmer for days. Overall, every bit of food tasted reheated, possibly microwaved or at least frozen from a bag.

Good menu in a small old school building with great seafood options and local food. We came in for dinner service and had friendly service. Desert was delicious and we were happy to get a table on a busy night. Worth stopping by and having a few courses to see what you like. ***updated June 2021 *** we dined in tonight getting the special Maine Scallops and the trout which were delicious. Also dabbled in some of the fresh oysters. The menu is still great but the price for what we had does seem higher than other fresh seafood places locally. All in all if you want the basics it can be done but if you get the entrees and or specials it’s gonna be quite expensive.

Good service snd good selection of food. Great wine list as well. I ordered fish and didn’t care so much for it since I found bones, but I guess that happens with fresh fish. The appetizer brie was really good too. Desert amazing as well.

The restaurant itself is charming in beautiful downtown Black Mountain but I was disappointed in my oysters on the half shell. The ice on the oyster plate had completely melted and the oysters were not cold. The ice keeps the oyster shells level. Most of oyster liquor or juice had spilled into the melted ice so oysters were not juicy and some seemed dry. I’ll give Que Sera another try but I prefer my oysters be freshly shucked and served cold on a sturdy bed of ice so you can enjoy the oyster juice. We were there shortly after they opened on Tuesday and ordered two dozen to start.
