As Texans who take our Mexican food very seriously, walking into Puerto Vallarta had us curious… and let me tell you, they delivered!
We ordered the carne asada burrito, and wow — this thing could make a Texan nod in approval. Tender, flavorful steak wrapped up in a burrito that felt like a warm hug from south of the border.
The queso was exactly what queso should be: cheesy, melty, and dangerously addictive. (You know it’s good when you start calculating how socially acceptable it is to lick the bowl.)
And the street corn? Absolute flavor bomb. Smoky, creamy, a little tangy — basically everything that makes elote one of life’s greatest inventions.
For a couple folks who moved up from Texas and miss our Mexican food scene, Puerto Vallarta definitely scratched that itch. Great flavors, fun atmosphere, and we left happy, full, and already talking about what we’ll order next time.

My family and I visited this restaurant last Saturday to celebrate my 25th birthday, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I called the same day hoping to make a reservation, and they somehow managed to accommodate our large party of 16 adults and 4 kids on a busy Saturday night—already impressive.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress—whose name I sadly can’t remember (mentioned she was from the Dominican Republic) -was truly phenomenal. She was attentive, friendly, and made our entire table feel so well taken care of. She was such a sweetheart.
The food was absolutely delicious. I decided to splurge for my birthday and ordered the ribeye steak, and let me just say… it was the BEST steak I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve tried plenty of steaks. The drinks were also amazing, especially the margaritas—so flavorful and perfectly made.
They even surprised me with a birthday dessert trio that included flan, tres leches, and fried ice cream. Every single dessert was incredibly delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the night.
We originally chose this place because it was the only restaurant that could take our group last-minute, but now we’ll be coming back because the service, food, and drinks were genuinely exceptional. Highly, highly recommend!

This review is based on takeout. I ordered the fried red snapper, and omg, it’s perfection. The fish was huge and perfectly crispy. The white rice and salad that came with it were good as well. Service was quick, and the fish was ready in 20 minutes after placing the order. I can’t wait to order this again! For the food and value, it’s 5 stars!

This place was amazing. My girl friend and I absolutely loved it. The staff was so friendly and made a point to make her birthday special. The food and atmosphere were amazing. We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone.

We went in for dinner on a Saturday. Despite having a reservation they took at least 15-20 minutes to seat us. And the server wasn’t very helpful with picking out vegetarian options, also we wanted to experience the live guacamole station which for some reason they skipped our table.
Pros: Food was good- The nachos and the Enchiladas Rio Bravo.
The hot sauces were made in house and were excellent!! Specially loved the mushroom one. Would return just for the hot sauces

The service was great, and the food was decent overall. We ordered the mixed fajitas (Chef Armando’s fajitas), which were absolutely delicious. The sides were also really good and came in larger portions than what you typically see at other restaurants. Unfortunately, the birria tacos were disappointing — there was no cheese, and the consomé was extremely thick, more like a container of just meat. We were there late in the evening (though not close to closing), so I’m not sure if that affected the quality. Other than that, the ambiance was excellent.

July 2024 Service was a little slow, but the customer service and personalities of all staff were fantastic. My Margarita was perfect and strong. My sister’s sangria must have been goof because she finished it fast. Our meals were hot and seasoned just right. Overall, the restaurant was clean, good vibe, and we enjoyed our meal.
