We began our operation in 1994, within months of the passage of legislation allowing brewpub operation in the state of Texas. We found a public eagerly awaiting the enjoyment of our cold, freshly brewed beers along with our freshly prepared, flavorful foods. In our fair little town, sidewalk consumption is allowed, so that you can take our cold brews on your sidewalk stroll! We are located in the heart of the historic, downtown shopping district in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas. To house our operations, we restored a great two story 1890s building to historical standards. The first floor of the building provides space for our dining area, biergarten, and a lager room. The second floor provides space for our unique Bed & Brew rooms.

The food was alright. It was good but not amazing. The breading on the catfish was delicious but very thick. Sometimes you would only be eating breading with no fish. the crab cakes were like potato cakes! Very interesting but good.
The beer was good. It had a strong hops taste if that’s what you’re into.
We’ll be back if convenient!
Ordered:
1. Bottle Caps – spicy & perfect
2. Artichoke dip – cheesy & hot
3. Scotch egg – I’d eat 5 if I could
4. Blue salad – fresh and light
5. Sausage sampler – a lot of food!
6. Wings over Germany – spicy! Very good
7. Beer flight – all great except the Hefe, I didn’t like it
There were a lot of people but it didn’t feel crowded. Excellent experience.
We stopped in for one of their sourdough pretzels and were so impressed. They offer both sweet and savory options, and since they’re made from sourdough, they’re a great choice for vegans or anyone with lactose intolerance. (Hard to find in a pretzel!)
Whether you’re there for a full meal, a cold beer, or just a quick snack, this place has something for everyone. If you’re visiting Fredericksburg, especially for the German vibes, you should definitely make time to stop by for a pretzel—and maybe a pint!
