Girlfriend and I drove out from League City just to drive the famed Prince’s. My older coworkers grew up with the drive ins and have sang its praises to me before, so I had high expectations knowing that the owners make the burgers the same way they always have. I’ve known people who used to regularly eat at the original locations and have attested that this place tastes exactly as they remembered, which hyped me up even more. Needless to say, we’re leaving extremely satisfied with plans to return and try even more things on the menu. We both ordered “The Original” burger, mine with chili cheese fries and her with onion rings. I had a beer and she had a fountain soda. There was plenty of food served and somehow we managed to eat every single last bite. The food has the older “real food” taste, not like something you can tell was clearly frozen and fried. The burger was exceptional. I’m extremely satisfied and I genuinely wish these people success so that they can expand to further locations, hopefully one closer to League City!

Mom grew up going to Prince’s and I took her in for a late lunch. The restaurant is located at the Sharpstown golf course and the only people eating there seemed to be there at the golf course. The dining room has vintage dining tables and chairs and it’s decorated with props, signs and photos from the 40s and 50s. Mom had an Old Timer, I had a Bopper Bacon Cheddar Burger, and we shared an order of Onion Rings. The burgers were huge and very filling. The onion rings were crispy. Great meal for a reasonable price!

Great to see this Houston legend back! Burgers are fresh, big, and taste great as always. Service was excellent. It’s in an older golf course so not their typical atmosphere but still looked good with the decor and retro chairs and tables Can’t wait till they open more locations around town!

In from Austin and drove straight to Prince’s. The burgers are massive so we got the Charbroiled burger, mix of fries and rings and a strawberry shake. There’s no better burger in the country. REAL meat, fresh crisp vegetables and a sesame bun – the real deal! You can’t get onion rings like these anymore – you’ve got to go to Prince’s to get ’em. The fries are seasoned but not just salted – crisp. The shake is enough for two and they’ll split it for you – and top both halves with whip cream. The tables ALL overlook a beautiful golf course – very nice place.

As most already know, Prince’s is a Houston legend. As a kid in the late 1970’s/1980’s, we ate at the one next to the other Houston legend: Fingers’ Furniture (Gulf Freeway @Cullen) and the one on North Wayside. Later on, I ate at the one off the Southwest Freeway across from the Summit a couple times.

Authentic retro vibe and location adjacent to the golf course and swimming pool distinguish this location from a more typical strip mall or stand-alone. Even on a 95 degree Saturday afternoon, four golfers pulled up on their carts and came in for something refreshing. To date I’ve had the fried shrimp and the Old Timer with cheese, both delicious. The half and half fries and onion rings is enough for four people. Closing time tip: if it’s a slow afternoon they may close at 5pm so if you’re going that late just check to be sure they’re open. Prices are very reasonable considering large portions and great taste.
