Primavera has officially become my favorite restaurant in St Joseph. I’ve been there a number of times since they opened and I have tried a different dish every time. I have yet to eat anything there that wasn’t absolutely delicious. I have also yet to decide on a favorite dish, because, as I said, everything I have tasted is delicious. I will say that of particular delight outside of any entrees, my wife and I both LOVE the fresh baked Italian rolls with butter that they bring to you the minute you sat down. Oh, and I can’t believe I didn’t mention this earlier, but if you have a sweet tooth you MUST try one of their desserts. I can recommend heavily the tiramisu, which pairs very well with they’re delicious coffee. They are also very affordable. All of that being said, the service is always impeccable and I have never felt like I was forgotten ever. Today our server Steve was on the ball and took very good care of us. Jimmy, the owner, is always there and is always a delight. Seriously folks, if you like Italian food, or just food in general, you need to get out of to Primavera. I can promise you will not regret it.

Delicious food! Hubby & I both had lobster ravioli, salads, calamari, & wine. Everything was amazing. Our waiter was attentive & offered suggestions for our meal. I think this restaurant is a huge addition to St. Joseph as a fine dining option.

Based on the excellent reviews we read, we decided to try Primavera Italian Restaurant. We were from Omaha and meeting up with our daughter coming from Olathe. We absolutely could not have picked a better place. The staff, the food and the restaurant were simply wonderful. Michael, as well as the other staff we came in contact with, took exceptional care of us. Our food was delicious and we would highly recommend the chicken parm (we had it with the mix of marinara and Alfredo sauce) and it was to die for. We also had the spaghetti the works and fried ravioli. We would highly recommend this restaurant and since we travel down I-29 frequently, we will definitely make a point to eat there often. Please give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Delicious pasta dishes! We went as a family this evening, and even my ridiculously picky 3 year old loved the food. Friendly, courteous staff. Quiet, comfortable restaurant. Prices were on par with mid-range family restaurant. Will go back again. 🙂

Atmosphere was generic Italian restaurant. Server was nice but seemed overworked. All of the food was good, except the meatball. Do not under any circumstances order the meatball. Bland bland bland, tasted frozen at one time, possible freezer burned. Not a good meatball. The meat sauce and Marina were good, noodles were aldente. Price for 3 people and a child was under $70 with tip.

The wife and I went here last Saturday for a date night. We have never eaten here before, but we were both in the mood for Italian style food so we thought we’d give it a try. Thank goodness we did!

There are 5 aspects I really look at when judging a restaurant for the first time: 1) Food 2) Service 3) Atmosphere 4) Cleanliness and 5) Price

1) Their Food
The food was Fantastic! I really enjoyed the fried ravioli we had for an appraiser. My meal had Alfredo sauce in it, and…well i don’t know how to explain it…most other place’s Alfredo sauce typically are very salty or packed full of garlic, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth afterwards. Primaver’s Alfredo sauce, however, was a very rich and creamy sauce that was sweet, yet had the perfect amount of garlic and salt texture to it as well. You can tell that it was homemade with only the best ingredients. Also, I really appreciate that they poured a large amount of sauce with my meal. Thank you!

2) Their Service
The wait staff was friendly, informative and respectful. I say wait staff because more than just our waiter was tending to our table, and each of them was just as friendly and respectful as the last! Never have I experienced service like that before at a restaurant. It was refreshing and sets a new standard for what I can expect from a superior wait staff. The wait for our food was out surprisingly fast too. With in 5m of ordering, we had our appetizer. We had our meal 10m later.

3) Their Atmosphere
Neither me or my wife have been to Italy, so we cannot vouch for their boastful authentic Italian claims. However, I can say that their establishment was very homey and inviting when we first walked in and while eating. Their tables and booths were spread far enough apart where I wasn’t bumping arms or chairs with others. The way they had their layout set up made the ambiance quiet and isolating. That of coarse made talking to my wife really easy and relaxing. Another very positive thing about their atmosphere was that, on a Saturday night, there was no wait! The only thing that I would request that they do differently is perhaps consider playing some soft background music to keep me fully immersed in our experience with their restaurant. This of coarse is not a game changer for me, merely a suggestion. 😉

4) Their Cleanliness
I’m going to nit-pick here….since I’m kind of a clean freak. Parking lot was clean, well lit and parking spaces gave plenty of room to park without fear of dings from others. Their breezeway was clean and had an air freshener
plugged in. That was a nice first impression IMO (the little things). Plenty of space in the lobby for waiting (if we were to wait). There was no trash or visible dirt/salt on the carpets which gave me the impression they swept regularly. We choose to sit in a booth, and our table was clean (no water spots or crumbs) and our booth seats were clean from crumbs as well. I like to judge a place’s cleanliness factor mostly on one thing however…and that is on how they clean their tables/chairs. After the busboy removed all the dishes from the table, he brought out a rag and cleaner to wipe down the table. Then pulled out a SECOND rag to wipe down the seats. This is honestly the first time I have ever seen a restaurant clean the seat and the table top with two SEPARATE rags as opposed to the same rag. I’m very strict on cleanliness, so this along with the other positive factors, solidified my feelings towards their cleanliness. A+

5) Their Pricing
Meals in their menu range from $6-$15, average cost to be about $10. For our shared appetizer , 2 meals, a shared desert, taxes and a 20% tip, we left there for around $40. Normally, for a date night, we like to keep our budget around $100-$150. Typically, we spend $75+ on our meal and the rest of our budget goes towards our date night event. With pricing like that, I can foresee us going here a lot more for future date nights. Hell, even just the occasional family night out!

This place blew me away, and you can bet anything that we will be returning. Frequently.

Love this restaurant. I’ve tried a different dish on each of our visits, (four since they opened) and they have ALL been delicious! Everyone is very friendly and happy to see that your food is to your liking.

Clean with good service. Prices were good, but you get what you pay for. Save your money. Go to Hyvee and get a can of diced tomatoes, pour it over over cooked noodles and you have a better version of spaghetti then what they serve. The chicken marsala was a mix of frozen rib meat in a brown gravy with canned mushrooms.. I sadly don’t see them lasting long if they don’t pick it up a few notches.
