Staff were very attentive even though the restaurant was very busy! I am coeliac (gluten intolerant) and there was a very wide choice of meals that could be adapted for me, the only downside was that our server could not take my order as it had to be taken by a manager! This meant we waited a good 15 minutes for a manager to take our order! Which was strange as when we got to desert, our server could take the order for that! Food was good and made a lovely evening out
The restaurant has clearly undergone some recent updates, and the changes have made a real difference. The atmosphere now feels much fresher and more relaxed, creating a comfortable setting for both families and larger groups. It strikes a lovely balance between lively and laid-back.
The quality of the food was truly excellent. Every dish that came to the table was well presented, full of flavour and served at just the right temperature. Despite being a larger party, the service was impressively quick and efficient throughout the evening. The pricing was also very reasonable for the standard of food and overall experience.
A special mention must go to Paige C, who looked after us brilliantly. She was extremely helpful, polite and attentive from start to finish. Managing a table of eight, especially for a birthday celebration, is no small task, but she handled everything with professionalism and warmth. Her excellent service genuinely made the evening feel special.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding service – we’ll definitely be returning.
We have been a bit reluctant to try Prezzo again, as previous visits to other sites in the chain have always been disappointing, but because the 50% offer was a too good of an offer to refuse and the restaurant only being 5 minutes down the road, we thought we’d give Prezzo another go. Our first visit following the refurbishment was good and we both felt the quality of food had improved significantly (although still well behind the likes of other similar italian restaurant chains).
We had family coming down to visit and suggested going to Prezzo. It was a Friday evening and the 50% off meals offer was still running, so we expected it too be busy and have a bit of a wait on food.
The drinks and warm focaccia we orded as starters arrived fairly quickly after being seated and the starters were very good. There was about an hours wait between the starters and mains being served and the staff were very apologetic about this. When the mains were served there was an issue with my others half’s pizza, they ordered the vegan lovers pizza but got served the vegetarian lovers pizza by mistake, our waiter was very apologetic and did admit it was his fault and in his defence, it was loud in the restaurant and he was having issues with his device, so perhaps not entirely his fault. My mother in law ordered the carbonara but it was immediately obvious it wasn’t cooked correctly, all of the pasta was stuck together, which suggests that either they weren’t agitating the pasta enough when adding it to the water, there was a lack of water in the pan, the wrong temperature of water being used, or over use of the same water for multiple meals meaning the water had become too starchy. The carbonara sauce also couldn’t be described as creamy, which also suggests poor heat management, lack of emulsification technique or poor ingredient ratios. We returned this to our waiter who inturn passed it over to the manager and I think she could see straight away the carbonara should not have been served as she came straight to our table to apologise and even cancelled all of our meals from the bill, even though we were happy to pay for the food we did eat.
The replacement vegan pizza for my other half, although edible it was clear had been rushed as you could see the dough hadn’t been stretched properly and was undercooked. On the other hand, I ordered the 4 cheese pizza, which was the best pizza I’ve had at a Prezzo restaurant, so we’ll give them another try once the offer has ended and hopefully it’s a bit less manic as I think that is where most of the issues with our meal have come from.
Drinks and starters ( calamari and mozzarella stick – both small portion for the price) came fairly quickly, taste not exceptional especially on the menu it was highly recommended. Main dish came after ( carbonara was dry and too salty – been to Italy numerous times so know what to expect, burger as expected).
Whilst we were eating, one of the staff was cleaning the table next to us when the customers left. They were spraying cleaning product towards where my baby and I were sitting and facing from a up high position, less than a meter away ( this was obviously not deliberate, but just showed no awareness), bare that in mind I mentioned distance between each table was narrow.
Staff was not rude, but they were not welcoming or friendly ( not a smile on two of the staff we have met) despite it was only the fourth day after reopening. We have ordered two starters, two main and two non alcoholic drinks – would have been £65 for the bill if not without the discount offer.
Lovely decor ( be careful with the big round light shade decor as seen customer banging their head by accident when they stood up and left the table as it was right above some tables), free parking…but other than that, service was unfriendly, food portion particularly starter was small in portion (main was normal portion), taste was mediocre, danger/risk awareness to children/baby was lacking. Would not be coming back or recommending to friends and family unfortunately.
The food was amazing, beautifully cooked and full of flavour, and everything came out in perfect time. You can tell the team really care about what they do.
Huge thanks to May for the excellent service — she really made our visit special. We’ll definitely be back
Boglarka was an absolutely amazing hostess, looked after us so well. Food was absolutely beautiful.
It was a really busy lunchtime but I cannot find fault in our experience.
We will definitely return. The new look is bright, and fresh.
An extra special thanks to Boglarka for looking after us so well.
