I have always loved this location, ever since the previous restaurant was there. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade that overlook the golf course and river. I have been a few times since Preston’s moved in and enjoyed it every time. The wings are a great appetizer and the ranch dressing is probably the best I’ve had anywhere. I’ve also had a couple of their sandwiches, burgers (which seem to have been removed from the lunch menu), and cob salad and have been satisfied with all of them. Service is friendly and fast. The price is good for the quality and quantity of food you receive. I definitely recommend giving them a try.

Preston’s at the River is always a great place for a night out. Especially if you’re looking for something reliably delicious. The staff are always very polite and welcoming. Oh, and you can’t beat the magnificent view of America’s oldest river either!

Just leaving 4 stars so I can let others know Fridays the kitchen actually closes at 9, not 10. Maybe the hours should be different for the bar? We went at 9:10 and the bar staff were very friendly and offered to ask the kitchen staff if they could serve us, but we didn’t want to inconvenience them. Mistakes happen. We’ve heard great things and hope to try the restaurant another time.

Took 45 minutes to get a waffle, one egg, and one sausage patty. One of only two tables in restaurant and food was cold. Eggs had no cheese … they came with a bowl of cheese sauce to make up for it. Asked the server to get us new food, which they eventually gave us…. took 2 minutes to get a warm waffle and sausage. Didn’t make any sense on their timing for no business going on.

Excellent food and service. They make almost everything on the menu in house – including the ketchup! Multiple specials and additions to the menu daily. Enjoy live music Friday evenings and Sunday Brunch on the patio overlooking the river – Fantastic!

Total nightmare. Arrived with family to celebrate daughters graduation from Radford University. Table not ready. Went outside and view was spectacular but from there everything became a disaster. While being seated we were told buffet only tonight. Ordered drinks took thirty minutes. Went to buffet and all containers were either empty or cold. There was some lamb in tray that was all fatty. No prime rib only fat scraps. Spoke to linda johnsson who basically laughed at me, then spoke to director of operations mr bloom who had been on job three days. Nice guy but totallyOVERWHELMED. At this point i was doing my best to be pleasant to not ruin daughters day.Finally the check came and I almost fell to the floor. On top of the absolute poorest dinning experience i had ever endured at the age of 59. The check included a $72 service charge. I was absolutely shocked that they would add a 18% gratuity to a check for a buffet dinner.i spoke to Shannon Arsenault who I was told was food and beverage director. That was another disaster. Not sure how she got that title but another poor example of BAD AND UNQUALIFIED MANAGEMENT. SHE WAS CLUELESS. MY ONLY RECOMMENDATION IS DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY AT THIS DISASTER.

First of all the specials are usually awesome. But they refuse to tell you what they are over the phone. The very Rude person that answers refers you to the website and Facebook, which is never updated. I wanted to speak to a manager but I was told “I’m the only one here.” So hopefully this reaches the owner. If I had a restuarant, I would want to advertise my specials and get people in there. I would love to visit there again, but until I know what they have on their menu, I Will Not Be Back. And will encourage all of my friends to do the same. Absolutely ridiculous.
