There’s a good reason this place was recently featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Very tasty food with unique ingredients that you wouldn’t normally expect to be so delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It’s a warm and vibrant atmosphere. A decent selection of beer for a smaller joint too. Try to grab a Skol Dog at US Bank field to supplement your experience.

We really wanted to like this place; we saw it had great reviews and was featured on the Food Network… I guess we should have concluded it wasn’t great when the lines to all the other food vendors were super long and there was hardly a line at this vendor at all. They dressed the dog up with all kinds of toppings and I was super pumped to try the Prairie Dog, but it fell short. The hot dog was not good, the bun was too big and fell apart, and I don’t think the toppings added anything to it at all. We were really disappointed by this place cause nothing beats a great hot dog.

My friend and I saw this Restaurant while driving down Lake street, and decided to give it a try. My friend and I ordered 3 dogs (THE ALL-AMERICAN, PLINY THE ELDER and the REU-BUN) and the DOUBLE FRIED FRIES with PRAIRIE SAUCE. Everything was outstanding. We got 3 dogs we figured would be good, but they turned out GREAT! The Fries ROCKED, we loved the Prairie Sauce too, just WOW. Prairie Dogs also had a very good Wine and Beer selection that we really enjoyed. Would return, and have told many people about this place already.

Best hot dogs and sausages I’ve ever had. The reuben dog is amazing.

Prairie Dogs….
Well, the location the show aired from on Lake St. was closed and Google directed us to Riverside Ave…they’ve teamed up with the Viking Bar.
Having read a bunch of the reviews that originated from the original location I was a bit disappointed with the results.
First let me say that the gentleman who was tending the bar was very helpful and friendly but having to walk up to the bar getting in and out of the tiny table/booth was a pain….they were out of the Italian Sausage for the Jimmy Two Times combo I was looking forward to having. At the suggestion of the bar tender I went with a Polish Sausage substitution and it was actually pretty good and suggested adding it to the menu. At 15.00 it was a little pricey but ya only go around once.
The Chili Cheese Tots and the Chili Dog version that Terri had were good as well but with a drink each and a tip tossed in I was north of 50 bucks….a little steep to plan a return trip for me.

I’ve been here a few times for the very solid happy hour (also available late), but tonight I had what was probably the best hot dog I’ve ever eaten in the All-American (crispy pork belly, morning potatoes, sunny egg, sriracha aioli and cilantro). Their beer list is also quite impressive for a relatively small restaurant. Don’t let this gem fall victim to the same fate as prior failed restaurants in this high-turnover location and bring your friends here for an awesome meal!

Great brat, done just the way I asked, and the spiciest ginger beer I’ve ever tried. Great menu, stellar service, and so friendly! We were here on a quiet night but I expect we’ll make plenty of return trips.

The food was good and the the waiter was good. To me it was over priced hot dogs. We had the prairie dog and the Mexican one. I don’t remember the name. The fixings where really good butt the bun feel apart. I would rather pay the money to get a Sheboygan at Target Field.

The wings!! In my whole life I’ve never had such wings. We kept ordering a thing at a time, so we were having to wait awhile each time, the wings took 20-30 minutes, and it was SO WORTH IT. The dogs were good, the sausage sampler was adorable and I would slap my mother to taste that again. We then finished the meal off with I want to say blueberry lavender shakes, and it’s ruined me for any other milkshakes. This place needs to be on the map for best places to eat in Minneapolis if it isn’t already. I couldn’t shut up about it afterwards. We tried to go back the next day but they were closed. (That was a Tuesday.) If you love sausage or hot dogs, or wings, you simply have to eat here.

I ordered the All American dog but I can’t say I was too impressed by this. I WILL Say that the fries (double fried) are SO great. I ordered what was essentially a poutine – with foie gravy and cheese curds and lamb. The price was steep ($12.50) but the basket was huge, unfinishable, and SOOO good. Wasn’t in a great mood before eating and this put me in a much happier mood.
