This place is aesthetically pleasing and would be a great place to get some work done. The food there is pretty good, though it is a little expensive. I got the butterfly pea iced matcha and a piri piri wrap. After tips and taxes, it came out to $23.30. They have some interesting flavors for drinks and I would come here again…if I had more money.

Overall it was overpriced and mediocre. The Portuguese egg tarts were soggy and not at all crispy and flaky like they should be. The “walnut” brownie was dry and only had one half of a walnut (the one on top). The thing that ticked me off the most was the almond tart. At the I added it to my order and I was surprised to find out it cost $8 for that thing. It’s the size of my palm and not at all worth that much. Everything beside the almond tart was $23 which in my opinion is overpriced. The only good thing was the atmosphere, the seating was cozy and inviting.

A nice change to see a boutique coffee shop in the burbs. It’s nice to be able to avoid SBucks. Atmosphere is cozy with leather couches, big TV, wooden floors, and a few outlets to charge. Well staffed with friendly young folk. All local clientele. Unfortunately the coffee tastes like it’s made with a burnt supermarket low grade bean. The matcha was “putrid” according to my buddy with me. SBucks has better drinks. Oy.

Pourtuga is by far the best Coffee House in the area. Their delicious coffee, pastries, amazing atmosphere, and genuine kindness are difficult to match! #customer4life

Went for the first time recently, had a decaf iced americano, the blue raspberry, and mango lemonades. Also had the chorizo sandwich thing. (I don’t remember what it was called exactly )

My wife and I are on a challenge to eat a meal in all 564 towns in New Jersey. We chose POURtuga for our meal in Watchung, NJ based on recommendations from others. Having just visited Portugal last year, it was like being back in Lisbon. The toasted ham & cheese Portugese croissants were great and the pastel de nata super fresh! The coffee shop has a great vibe and is a great place to hang out and have a relaxing breakfast.
