Delicious coffee! The Pastries were pricey, but not so tasty. I didn’t particularly like the decor. I was cold the entire time while trying to work, and the bathrooms were out of service. I had to scurry out of there so I can find a comfortable place to work. Disappointed because I’ve been looking forward to this place since I moved out here. I’ll take the Coffee to go if I pass by

Been wanting to stop in for awhile and finally made it here. Excellent coffee and extremely hot just how I like it. Friendly employees with a relaxing atmosphere. Only feedback I would give is not charge extra for oat milk. It’s a turn off and takes away from the experience. Highly recommend stopping by for some coffee and desserts

This place was much better than the one in green brook! Perfect spot to get my Portuguese fix when I’m not near Newark. The Pastel de Nata is not a “wow factor” here but it will do. Typically you want a crunchy flakey crust and they don’t have that here.

First time stopping by and it was delicious! I haven’t had a real hot latte in this area in such a long time the latte was not room temperature, not boiling hot but It was just right! The service was great all the pastries looked delicious and the salads I can’t wait to come back and to try everything on the menu!

We went there for the first time this past weekend (visit date 6/29). Food, service, atmosphere are all fantastic. The egg tart is highly recommended. Pictured is the chorizo & cheese on Portuguese croissant. We plan to become regulars going forward.

Food: the pastel de nata and pineapple tart were delicious. my caramel latte just tasted like coffee with some almond milk. I had to add a bit of sugar but I didn’t taste any caramel.
Service: meh. lady tried pushing the tarts towards me while I clearly had my hands full, putting my wallet back in my bag. I grabbed one plate and laid it back onto the counter because she wouldn’t take the hint. I paid with Apple Pay and wasn’t aware of any issues & left a cash tip before walking to my table. when they called me for my coffee, I was told I had to run my payment through again. why not verify that before I walk away? and then they were rude when telling me my coffee was waiting there.
Atmosphere: lots of space. very basic decor.
Overall experience: not really worth $21 for bad coffee, decent tarts, mediocre service, plus tip

I’ve visited Portuga several times over the last several years. Today, Claribel, the manager, was operating the cash register. I pointed to the dessert items I wanted in the display case, and verbalized which Tres Leches cakes I wanted to take home as additional desserts for our Christmas Eve. Claribel appeared confused and tired. I was confused after only receiving one cake, but the other was not taken from the display.
Long story short, the transaction was improperly inputed by the manager. Another employee helped her to void the transaction and properly input my items. Claribel continued to stare at me with a slight smile, but her demeanor was not friendly, nor patient, and she made no attempts to reconcile the error in a manner that would convey I was welcomed in the cafe. Her last words after I walked away and out of the cafe were “Merry Christmas” in a cheerful tone that did NOT match her demeanor throughout my transaction or the 2 customers before me.
Mistakes happen. But how you conduct yourself, especially as a manager, demonstrates more than any phrase, or holiday greeting. Costumer Service, patronage, patience, and kindness, especially at this time of year, matters more than ever.

Stopped in for a quick bite and some pastries. Had tosta mista chorizo. Delicious! And took for carry out some pasteis de nata and one of each of the bolas de berlim, and also a rosca minhota. Everything was so fresh and fluffy and light. I will definitely be coming back to try more. Thank you!

Such a nice family owned spot with a big drink menu and incredible selection of fresh Portuguese pastries and goods too! The pastries were all so beautiful and homemade with expertise and it’s cool to see you can get Portuguese cheeses, tinned fish, and other things here. Go support this place!
