I came here on a Tuesday night thinking it would be a quiet dinner scenario, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the pub packed with patrons. There were 3 larger groups waiting for their tables ahead of me, but I was able to find a spot at the bar. Apparently on Tuesdays, the pub hosts bands of musicians that come in to play live music (starting at 7pm), so many locals and families come in for these nights. The staff were very busy, but still were friendly and accommodating.
I had The Boss Burger with root beer. It was a very satisfying meal. This pub is also one of the few restaurants that are open on Tuesdays in this part of Vermont, so I understand why it’s so popular! I definitely recommend this place!

Poutine was delicious both onion and pork gravy! Best we’ve had. Mac and cheese is good, but the Buffalo one is too much sauce. Bbq one is good but not a ton of meat. Soup was super flavorful.

Food was overall really good! Good selection of beers too.

Great Pub, nice atmosphere, and local hospitality. Nightly specials/entertainment always going on so you may need to have a reservation for some of them.

My only dislike is when they change the beer kegs, rather than running off the cloudy foam that initially comes out, they serve it to the first few customers. Having been that customer more than once – it may seem silly – but, just throw that stuff out rather than having an unhappy customer.

Great Atmosphere, Average Food

Poultney Pub has a beautiful setting with a lively atmosphere. The live music was excellent, with many talented musicians playing different instruments, making it a great place to hang out. However, the food was underwhelming—I tried the burger and the fish & chips, and both lacked flavor. On the bright side, the service was outstanding, with friendly and attentive waitresses, and the beer selection was impressive. Worth a visit for the ambiance and drinks, but don’t expect a memorable meal.

Nice little pub with extensive beer offerings and very decent pub grub. The root salad is crisp and delicious and when combined with the shepherd’s pie, you have a wonderfully satisfying dinner! Katy the bar tender keeps the place humming and great drinks coming! The decor and ambience is just ok but on a cold Vermont evening the place is warm and fun. You will enjoy it.

We came here for the first time. Food was very good, cocktails ok and service friendly. One recommendation- do not arrive before they open- you will have to wait outside… Regardless- worth visiting!!!

Da bomb! Great music. Enjoyable grub. Rock Star drinks!

We had a grand time at Taps. The beet and blueberry martini or lemon drop was perfectly made. And I drank every drop.

The chicken sandwich and fish and chips filled us up and was yums. Great fries. Great dressing on salad (lemony). Great salad.

A true pleasure. Our wait staff were fantastic. One was in training and the trainer was excellent as far as we could tell.

A winner winner chicken dinner.

This is inflation…tired of paying for food that sucks.

I ordered the pulled pork and the falafel sandwich. The pork was sloppy, overdressed with a sweet BBQ sauce which made for a terrible meat to bun ratio and it didn’t have much cole slaw. The falafel was non existent, more like a falafel paste smeared on store bought wraps with huge chunks of raw cucumber and lettuce.

Total: $38.00 plus tax and tip.

Horrible, will never return. Stick to just music, the food is barely satisfactory.

Third time here since May. Each time a better than expected experience. Great service. Great food. Great music, great non-alcoholic options too.
