As I mentioned before, the restaurant modern decor… very elegant. We were escorted to a table on the second floor overlooking North Main Street. The view of horse carriages moving up and down North Main Street added to a perfect evening.
The wine card is extremely generous, and packed with excellent wine selections.
The entrees were spectacular. We had the RedWine Braised Short Rib and Fried Trout. Both were mouth watering. Our guilty pleasure was the Dark Chocolate Pot de Creme. Simply perfect.
While a reservation is not required, I highly recommend making one. No waiting!
A special thanks to the Postero staff for an awesome evening.
For main dishes, I ordered the Steak Frites while my wife ordered the Chicken. I asked for my steak to be cooked Medium-Rare and it was excellently prepared and tasted amazing. My wife’s chicken had amazing depth of flavor and was not dried out at all. Our personal favorite from these dishes were the Frites that came with my steak, they were well seasoned, crispy, and had the perfect temperature.
For dessert we decided upon the Appalachian Tiramisu and the Dark Chocolate Pot De Crème. Both were exquisite and well prepared. Overall with a tip we spent around 170$ but the entire dinner, from service to flavors was phenomenal leaving nothing to be desired. If you are ever in Hendersonville and want an excellent evening dinner service, look no further than Postero.
Postero ended up being our favorite meal of the trip. Everyone left happy and full after enjoying a variety of delicious dishes. The wine menu was excellent, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
We covered almost the whole menu. My side had the Cobia, and it was almost better than my dish. Dad had the steak, and he gave me the last two bites. I cut them with the side of my fork they were so tender. Mom had the lamb, and made me take a bite. Who knew I like lamb?? I think I have tried it twice and did not enjoy it either time. This was amazing. The Aromatic Demi-Glace had a hint of pepper and had just a little bite to it that brought the whole thing home. I had the Pan Seared Scallops, Corn, Potato and Summer Squash Chowder, Crispy Pancetta, Scallions and it was among the best I have ever had.
It was so good I asked for bread to clean my plate, and they brought amazing plate of pieces of brioche with a miso butter. The bread is made fresh just down the street. If you like Old fashions then try the one here. Templeton Rye, Simple Syrup, Cherry Juice, Bitters. It started out a little on the “too sweet” side but it comes with one of those giant ice cubes. Once that melted a tiny bit, it smoothed it right out.
For mains, I had the chicken and my wife had the ribeye. The chicken had a nice crispy texture that I really enjoyed, even though it leaned a little dry. The risotto served alongside it was absolutely immaculate, creamy and rich, the kind of dish you remember long after the meal. The ribeye had good flavor, though a little fatty, and it came with fries and a salad which made it a complete plate.
We finished with the tiramisu and it was the perfect ending. Light, decadent, and beautifully balanced, it was so good that both of us agreed it elevated the entire experience.
The food overall was creative and flavorful, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere made the evening enjoyable from start to finish. With dishes like these, especially the risotto, Brussels sprouts, and tiramisu, this place earns five stars without question.
We started with the tuna carpaccio, which was beautifully presented but unfortunately missed the mark. The sauce was overpowering-so dominant that it masked the delicate flavor of the tuna entirely. A more restrained touch would have let the star ingredient shine. The small BLT salad was a nice follow-up: crisp, fresh, and balanced with smoky bacon and a flavorful dressing.
For the main course, we had the chicken large plate, which was the highlight of the meal. The chicken was perfectly cooked-juicy inside with a great sear-and the accompaniments were thoughtful and satisfying, making it a hearty and well-rounded dish.
Service was okay, but not particularly memorable.
Postero still delivers a strong dining experience overall. If you’re looking for a creative, high-quality meal in Hendersonville and don’t mind a limited and highly expensive menu, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Chris was our server and he was kind, professional, attentive.
We started with 2 Free Bird cocktails (gin, tonic, grapefruit and rosemary), local beers, buratta toast and the crab and corn hushpuppies. Refreshing! Delicious!!
Our main courses were the buttermilk chicken sandwiches with green goddess salad with grilled squash, nuts and grapes, the double burger with house sauce, house fries, shrimp scampi with garlic, pesto, spaghetti and bread crumbs. Incredible all!
Brown Betty for dessert, great coffee, wonderful herbal tea selection.
The atmosphere is in a remodeled bank with walk in vaults, rustic, warm feel.
You MUST go to Postero!
