The appetizers were my favorite part! They had these buffalo shrimp that were SO good! The crab claws were good. I ordered the crab stuffed flounder—it had a lot more pieces of crab shells and fish bones than I was expecting. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I’d say the shrimp is where it’s at!

The quality of food has gone down over the past months.

The service ware has taken a beating and needs to be replaced. Their standard plastic cups are showing so much wear as in chips around the edge of the cups.

Also, for goodness sakes, if you run out of captain wafers, put them on the side of the serving plate beside the salad bowl. Giving out a plastic snack bag with four crackers is absurd and is an insult to patrons.

The quality of the food has gone down also. Every bite tasted of old oil whether it was fried or grilled. A simple remedy is the fryer needs to be deep cleaned, not just replacing the oil. The griddle needs to be cleaned also to remove old residue.

The thing that is the worst, is the added chopped parsley and onion to every seafood plate to make the plate look more upscale. Trust me, it does nothing for presentation, looks stupid, and does nothing on the palate.

The wait staff is barely doing the obvious in service. No smiles. No happy banter. Just sad and I would say overworked, but that would be an overstatement. Even suggesting a tip rate of 20% is an insult to people who are being forced to tip an outrageous amount for poor service. What happened to tipping according to the waitstaff performance? My favorite job was serving at a restaurant that took pride in their restaurant and in their offerings of food, service, and atmosphere.

If Posey’s is giving up, please do it in a prideful manner, and just close. Or, pick up the torch and do better. A year ago, the food was really good and we frequented every two weeks. Now, we dine at Posey’s mainly because someone requests and we go out of respect for their reminiscing of the good old days. Now it is just sad. The restaurant, in the past, has been so much more than a greasy spoon.

Please take my thoughts as an encouragment to do better. It has not gotten totally out of hand. You can turn it around before it is too late.

We were on a US 98 on a road trip and sightseeing. We wanted to stop somewhere for lunch and we found this place in Panacea. I had the steam shrimp with Old Bay seasoning with grits and hush puppies. I basically had shrimp and grits. I loved the Old Bay seasoning and those hush puppies were so good. We also had the key lime pie. That was the most whipped key lime pie I have had and it was very light and good. The place was busy but service was good and people were friendly. Stop by here for good seafood and good customer service.

We love this dive! Everything we had here was excellent. During crabbing season, they do all their own crabbing—when we pulled up, stacks of traps were ready to go. Everything that’s in season is fresh and local, and the place is locally owned, which makes it even better. The seafood is out of this world, the oysters are fantastic, and the steaks are phenomenal. It’s a no-frills, friendly-service kind of place that’s easy to love. If you enjoy beach dives with amazing food, this spot is perfect for you.

We evacuated and landed in Panacea. This place was awesome. The staff were very sweet and food was off the chain. Thank you for the sweet Southern hospitality.

Just had fried oysters and grilled grouper salad. The oysters without the tartar sauce were to die for. Then you add the sauce and I died happy. The grouper was perfect with the seasoning complemented and didn’t overpower. I matched that with their honey mustard dressing on the side.

Good food, little pricey, but good amount of food also. Service as far as follow up to refill drinks slow, when paying had to wait a while for waitress to pick up credit card and was informed needed to take credit card and ticket to front desk. This was confusing since we have been there many times before and the waitress comes by and picks up credit card. But overall pleasant trip. Like the fact open on Tuesday when other seafood restaurants, international area, are not open.

Great seafood for a fair price. I will be back when in the area again. I actually went to lunch twice in three days as it was that good. Fresh seafood, fair price and I loved the cheese grits… best that I have had. thank you!

R U N! Don’t walk to this place. There is not anything bad here. The FOOD, PEOPLE, ATMOSPHERE. ALL FANTASTIC. I would literally explode before I would stop eating here. I would fight a legion of one-legged pigmes for this food. Shout out to Antonio.

Best seafood we had during this stay in Florida. We had the shareable blackened seafood platter. The in-house buttermilk ranch dressing is unbelievably delicious. If I could make one suggestion it would only be that I wished they had cleaned the crab that went into the deviled crab a little better. I had several pieces of shell in mine which makes for a very unpleasant fighting experience. Other than that, we would definitely go back.
