We offer cocktails, beer, wine, food, espresso drinks, live music and events, in addition to a well curated selection of books at prices that can’t be beat! Love, love, love the Book and Bar and their new menu! The food and drinks are delicious! I got the BLT on wheat bread with lemon aioli, and a giant chocolate chip cookie! My daughter ordered a vegan BLT, and a pumpkin parfait. Everything was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was friendly and thoughtful and very speedy. A wonderful place to hang out, have a wide variety of food and desserts and drinks, in a relaxed atmosphere, right in downtown Portsmouth.

A combined bookstore, coffee shop, bar, and live music venue (late evenings) is hard to beat. Food is great, coffee is decent, atmosphere is amazing. And the book selection is not huge but still quite good – a mix of new books, classics, and some used books.

Loved everything about this place! Food was phenomenal. I had a turkey club – yum!! – and my friend had a bowl. They also sell books – bonus! Turns out the books are either overstock or donations, so prices are drastically reduced & they have an excellent assortment. They also had games you could play while noshing and live entertainment. Will go back again for sure!

What a unique and wonderful place! I could gladly spend the entire day here. Books, games, snacks and drinks what more can you ask for! They have a very large and unique selection of very well priced books. The owner and employees are very friendly. There is a restroom located in the back. Just wish I had more time to spend here.

Popped in for a quick browse and coffee but I loved this place. Excellent concept. They not only sell books (at reasonable prices), have a bar and cafe, but also host live music events. Excellent place to hang out.

Such a cute place in downtown Portsmouth! My friends and I found this gem on our first night in town and went back a second and third night. The drinks were so good, the wait staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was awesome. Will definitely be back!
