I went there for the Djon Djon black mushroom rice. It was salty and more gray than black, not using enough of the mushrooms to give it that authentic Haitian flavor I’ve grown up eating from Haitian relatives. Mixed up the sides and got the meat wrong on my order. Only had one vegetable option, greens. So, I asked if I could substitute my veggie with pikliz(pickled cabbage/carrot/onion/hot pepper). At first, they brought me 1 of those 1 oz ketchup containers, I said this is my veggie side after spending $65? He gave me 2 more. You can see what it amounted to on the top of my rice. My fried turkey was not salty but had no flavor. My sweetie said the stew goat was also very salty, and he will never go back there, I agree.

Ordered the “poul en sos” with “diri a djon djon” and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken literally fell off the bone, sauce it was cooked in is to die for, and is phenomenal on the rice and “banann peze”

This place was on my list for the longest and finally got a chance to try it. For starters the food is simply tasty ! Just so good. I ordered the djon djon came with a side of plantains. My only thing is I would say the food fairly pricy for what I’m used to – in Florida. For my cocktail, I ordered the punch 9/10. The location is pretty nice. Staff is nice and friendly. Overall 8/10

Can’t remember where I heard about this restaurant, I just know I had them saved on my map for a while. During my recent trip to DC I was able to try them for dinner, the food was as expected. Haitian food is always delicious, I have had better at smaller shops but as I said you can’t go wrong with Haitian food.

I only ordered their red snapper when I’m there because I tried their goat meat, it’s too dry to my taste. They serve good passion fruit juice and mojito. My other concern will be the house salad that was too salty to our taste. Their location is easy to find on the Main Street but parking can be a little tricky so allow enough time and patience. Beside that, there is a great ambiance and music playing if you are a fan of Haitian music you’ll be delight!

The food was super delicious. It’s like a party in my mouth. The guava & passion fruit juice were awesome. Great Haitian cuisine.

Highly recommended if you are interested in trying Harlan food and drinks. Our order took a while for us to get it but when we finally did, it was totally worth the wait. The drinks are great, make sure you know what you are ordering or ask the waitress/staff.

I should have READ the reviews before going. I came to DC for a vacation and found this Haitian restaurant near my Airbnb. I wanted to give it a try and i was absolutely disappointed. The service is BAD. I arrived inside the restaurant at 7pm, it took 30 minutes to get a cup of water, I never received the drink I ordered and the food arrived at 8:30pm. when the food arrived I did ask again for my cocktail but it never arrived. I didn’t say anything because the taste of the food was ok. When I asked for my check, I saw listed the drink that I never received. I complained and the waiter apologized then said he would bring me now while I was about to pay and leave. I declined and asked to be taken off my bill, then paid And went. also be aware they will charge you 18% for a service while there is BAD I would say No service provided.
