Authentic old-school Texas barbecue, no-frills decor but fantastic service and great food and beer selection. I don’t understand the negative reviews here. As a former Austin resident, and now Amarillo, I haven’t found any place better in Texas than here. Bicycle friendly, too, which is more than I can say for a lot of restaurants in the Panhandle. I’ll definitely be back to try everything on the menu. This first time I had a brisket sandwich and the best macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had, along with a good Colorado beer.

Usually, the way a place looks outside can be a surprise on the inside, nope, not this place. It is what you expect. Run down outside and run down inside. Food was a reflection of the establishment. I’ve had Texas barbecue all over the state, and this would rate very low on my overall experience for Texas barbecue. My son and I both had pulled pork, and it was better than Buc-cees. The fries were somewhat sweet, and mac n cheese was not worth trying. No fountain drinks, just an overpriced bottle of coke. It was very expensive for what it was. I wouldn’t waste my time or money here. There are plenty of other places in Amarillo.

Thought I would try this barbecue place for the first time as I was headed back to California. First of all it’s located not to far off Interstate 40 exit 77 in Amarillo,Texas. The restaurant is in an older building that’s half bar and half restaurant. There is no separation wall between the two it wasn’t noisy when I went rather laid back. I ordered half rack of pork ribs they were delicious and huge they will cost you $18.95. The ribs were lukewarm at best it was like they were sitting in the oven or a warmer, wish they would have been hotter. Ordered 2 sides a salad cost $5.00 and beans for $3.50 they come in very small containers a bit expensive in my opinion(see photos) I will say the beans were delicious and the salad very fresh. You place your order then they deliver the food to your table. They have delicious barbecue sauce and plenty of other condiments. (Their menu is available on their website)

We had such high hopes for good Texas BBQ on our way through Amarillo. This was not that – place is dirty, flies everywhere. They were out of half their menu. The burger and brisket were both way overcooked and dry. The salad was sad. Husband said the sausage and mac n cheese were good so I’m giving a 3, graciously. Too bad we drove through on a Sunday when so many better options were closed.

Talk about off the beaten path, this place is off by itself and was a little ify on the look, but sometimes that’s where you find the good stuff.
Tried the brisket (1/4 lb) and the ribs (3) ala carte.
All the meat was tender and juicy. The ribs were fall off the bone. The sauce was good and the young lady’s taking the orders were friendly and helpful. More of an old bar feel than a restaurant but I would definitely try it again.

Heading back to CA…My daughter wanted to try the Texan Brisket. No regrets! Good was delicious. We originally ordered ahead of time for takeout. However, do to the welcome atmosphere we decided to dine in. Reasonable prices for the quality of food you get. Highly recommended!

My family and I were on a road trip driving through Texas and we were looking for real Texas BBQ. Admittedly, we’re not the expert in real Texas BBQ, but we read the reviews of this place and decided we had to stop. Bo oh boy, am I glad we found this place!! Everything, and I mean everything, we had was out of this world delicious. The mac and cheese was by far the biggest surprise, as it was full of flavor!! 10/10 recommend this place for anyone traveling through.

If you like BBQ… You ABSOLUTELY need to try this place!! That was some of the tenderest meats I’ve ever had!! They even have calf fries (now THAT’S TEXAS ) And the Pecan Cobbler I have to say this was one of the best places I’ve ever been!! If you are in Amarillo or just passing through, you MUST try this place! It’s off the beaten path and as a local told me… “It’s a little dive bar with the most amazing BBQ”

They won 1st place for ribs 2025 barbeque annual event. I plan to attend the 2026. I think it happens in Aug..
We also purchased 2 racks of ribs to freezer and eat as we want.

This place is a Hidden Gem in Amarillo. The BEST Beef Brisket in the Texas Panhandle, and perhaps the entire state of Texas. It is perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth Delicious! The Pulled Pork is awesome, and so are the BBQ sauces. Highly Recommend and will Definitely come back again. BRAVO!!
