We picked this pub as it has excellent reviews on Google. Interestingly I have never seen so many pubs on a seafront before.
From the outside the pub as an interesting green tile finish, which I’m sure in the summer looks amazing.
I booked a table a few days before which was worthwhile doing as I feel we got the best table in the pub which was a window seat.
Please note this is a fish restaurant and the choice they have on offer is exceptionally good with a varied price list so great for most budgets.
My wife had the prawns which she thoroughly enjoyed and found extremely tasty. I had the haddock which I also enjoyed, but it didn’t quite meet the quality I have had elsewhere.
We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which we would both recommend.
The pub was a real traditional pub, with many regulars who had some great stories to tell.
Overall we enjoyed our lunch and the service provided.

Staying in Poole for a short break and looking for somewhere for dinner, we thought we’d try The Poole Arms.
So very pleased we did!
Fantastic food; welcoming, friendly staff; cosy, warm atmosphere.
Definitely one to remember for another visit!

If you don’t like seafood/fish, this may not be the plaice(!) for you. They do serve non fish dishes but they are in the minority. Lovely unspoilt pub. Not massive so book to ensure a table. All dishes freshly cooked to order. Good wine list. Cask ales. Lovely staff.

Really charming, welcoming old pub. Serves good, if not exceptional, food but its Guinness is one all of the best I’ve had east of Ireland. Pretty much a perfect pint
Gents be warned, the facilities are down the lane and require a keypad code!

Love this little pub. Very fishy smell when we arrived from the kitchen which wasnt pleasant but food was being served when we arrived so to be expected. Most tables were reserved which was a pain but it was peak lunchtime. Barman not the most friendliest, quite dull really but overall we do like visitng this pub , better when the weathers nice and you can sit outside.

Absolutely fantastic food and great service. I would advise to book in advance though, we went for dinner and was fully booked, so we booked for next day lunch.
The fish and seafood casserole was just amazing, I loved it!

Holy! This place was such a gem to stumble across in Poole. The prices were incredibly reasonable compared to all the other surrounding places AND for fresh seafood. I’m from Australia and I know good seafood and by god THIS is good seafood. We ordered the oysters which were HUGH, the scallops and the sardines for starters which were all fantastic and tasted fresh. Then, we ordered the smoked haddock pot, the skate wing and the sea bass and gosh all were 10/10. I think the skate wing and the smoked haddock pot were the highlights. The chef definitely knows how to cook fish. Also, the servers were amazing – big shout out to Emma and Debbie – they all had great banter and were very professional. If I wasn’t leaving tomorrow, I would be back again and again.
