This is in my top three favorite Mexican restaurants in Portland. I love everything about Plaza Coyoacan – starting with their owner Leticia who is such a gem and is originally from Coyoacan! Their sopes were some of the best I’ve had in the U.S. and their salsas have a serious kick! I’m not the biggest fan of mole poblano but their rendition is very good and provides much more subtle sweetness. Finally they serve my favorite beer – Victoria. If I could eat here everyday I would.

Sweet little restaurant with counter service ran by some lovely folks from Mexico City. High praise especially for the carne asada burrito with house made habanero salsa and the guacamole. It was a little chilly in the restaurant but that’s our only feedback. Thanks Eduardo!

Plaza Coyacan is my favorite in every way! Every time I eat here, I spend the entire time admiring the patio and the amazing wooden carved logo. When it’s cold, the staff always turns on the heaters wherever I sit. They are friendly, helpful and take care of the place with love. The food is amazing. I’ve been for breakfast, lunch, dinner. It’s all delicious, including the veggie options. This is a must try in Portland!

What a wonderful and unexpected find! My daughter and I stopped in on a whim while we were out shopping, and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast, attentive, and truly excellent.
We ordered a hot chocolate and flan, and both were absolutely authentic and delicious—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was so inviting and enjoyable that we decided to stay longer and added chips and salsa, which did not disappoint.
The vibe alone makes you want to linger, but the food and service sealed the deal. We definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back to explore the menu and enjoy a full meal next time. This spot is a gem!

So friendly, service very good. Food was fresh, colorful, and flavorful. Loved the margaritas. Mole was deep and luscious. Tacos had great tortilla and flavorful. The patio was warm with the heaters overhead, even during cold and rainy night. We were snug and happy.
