I got food there for the first time yesterday! I ordered tacos carnival, 3 leches dessert and Papusa. I inhaled papusa in the car. The food was absolutely amazing , and it’s pretty cheap, compare to other restaurants. The lady was very welcoming. Definitely will go back. Recommend 100%.

Got a traditional vegetarian Savi plate plus cheese pupusa and fries on the side. The crema was very unique and cheesy, the tomato salsa, & salsa verde were very good. The maduros were cooked to perfection.
Also enjoyed fresh watermelon juice with limes and ice tea. Friendly service, not long wait time, & clean space! It’s nice they had grocery items available for sale. Will return!!!

Love. Food was delicious, the server was sooo lovely, felt like a NYC bodega slash restaurant. We enjoyed it and look forward to coming back.
I didn’t bother taking a photo when the food arrived but trust it’s yummy.

Amazing meal. I live in Little Salvador in Boston, surrounded by great Salvadorean food, and this place stacks up against any of the best places here. Everything is fresh and delicious. Very affordable with great service. Lo recomiendo cien por ciento. We

In response to owner comment: the plantains, oddly served as they were, were delicious and should be the least of your concerns. You should be more concerned about the photo below of that poorly prepared very dry birria taco. You can see where it wasn’t even dipped in the very sour off tasting consumme, the very dry very TINY portion of meat on it, and it lacks in the melted cheese most other places use. I suggest you travel to GREENBUSH SALSA LATINA and try a real birria taco. So good I willingly drive there from Pittsfield just for this dish. I’ve had your version twice now and both times it is the same which tells me your version is just not up to the highest standard.
See pics!DRY NO CHEESE MEAT IS SO TOUGH NO CHEESE VERY SOUR CONSUMME save your money and go literally anywhere else. Barley any meat and the meat you get is so dried out and touch and just all around terrible. I ordered a side of plantains and they sliced HALF OF one PLANTAIN IN 4 SLICES poor tiny servings plain black beans instead of refried
SECOND AND LAST TIMEWE WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AND WASTE MONEY HERE

I love love love, La Placita!! They have the most authentic tacos and pupusas in the Berkshires. I was disappointed to hear that they would be closing their location on North St. However, their new space on Wendell Ave is super quaint and cozy to spend your lunch break or early dinner snack. disappointed, if you want something fresh, they’ve got aguafrescas are always made to order and tasty to enjoy in their outdoor patio space. I’m delighted to have la placita as a little space of Latino Love. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Best tacos in Pittsfield! You can’t beat the homemade tortillas. The tacos dorados were really good, too. We came for lunch on a Sunday and it was quiet. Will definitely be back for breakfast sometime.
Good amount of seating, mostly booths. Small latin grocery area.

For anyone who craves decent Mexican and El Salvadoran food, this is about the only option in Pittsfield, and it’s really good. The owner-chef really cares about his customers and the food he makes, and it really shows. I don’t think there is a dish on the menu that we’ve ordered and didn’t like. They are also great with to-go orders, which are always still piping hot when we get home. And the in-restaurant market is fun for getting some authentic ingredients for cooking our own Latin food at home.
For those who aren’t familiar with El Salvadoran food, I recommend being adventurous. Don’t know what a papusa is? Order some — they are delicious. Never tried fried plantains? Don’t miss out on Placita Latina’s, served fresh and hot with a side of crema. And the standard Mexican fare is above-average as well — we love their street tacos, empanadas, and enchiladas.
We did encounter a couple of hiccups as Placita Latina first got off the ground. One was that we sometimes had to wait a long while for our meals, even when things weren’t busy. Another was that the meats were occasionally very salty — much more so than when we visited before or after. But those minor hiccups have not stopped us from returning there frequently — or from recommending it to friends. (And, FYI, everyone we’ve recommended Placita Latina to tell us they are very happy that we did!)
Kuddos and thanks to everyone at the restaurant who has made our visits there “muy especial.” 😉

I have been ordering the tacos every time because they are delicious and satisfying. The music is warm and the people are friendly. The space is enormous, so until we all fill it up, it will feel a bit like Pittsfield. They are open until 8 pm, but took my order even though I was a little late. Thank you Placita Latina.
