i’m pretty sure this is my favourite restaurant in oxford, while the pizza is pretty good, for me it’s the pasta that shines. I get the baked cannelloni dish with ricotta every time, it’s cheesy with a perfect tomato sauce and balanced with tangy ricotta!! 10/10. its traditional and you get the sense it’s family run, perfect for families couples or friends.

A slice of Italy hidden away in Oxford! The food is INCREDIBLE here. Authentic, delicious and very well priced. We visit regularly and have never left disappointed, leaving full and counting down the days to our next visit. You are served quickly and friendly by the team which is especially impressive when the food is this good. Give the chains in the city centre a miss and support this incredible independent!!

I was craving pasta and this was just perfect! They were very nice about changing the penne to spaghetti on my request. My friends ordered lasagna and pizza and both were super good, too. Next time I’d definitely go for the lasagna! Nice staff, too 🙂

A brilliant, traditional restaurant, serving excellent food. Mario’s is tucked along the Cowley Road quietly hidden amongst the bright lights of the fast food chains and other much newer restaurants. Inside the restaurant is small, but this only adds to the atmosphere of a very popular bustling place. For a Monday evening, when I ate there with my family, Mario’s was so busy. Every table was full. There is a wide variety to choose from on the menu, all at a very competitive and reasonable price. The quality of the food is excellent and very tasty.
Mario’s is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back for more.

Came with my husband & daughter on Saturday night without a reservation and was greeted warmly with only a 10 minute wait for a table. The food was outstanding, authentic & homely and the Chianti was delicious! They could not have been more friendly or kind! First time here but as my daughter has just moved to Oxford it luckily won’t be our last!! Grazie Mille!

Very very very average food in Spartan surroundings. The appetizers were probably out of a supermarket freezer bag straight into a fryer, pizzas were very average. Difficult to understand the current rating at 4.6 for something that is definitely NOT a 4.6, not even a 3.6. You have been warned .

Great little find in cowley. Looks a bit peculiar from outside. All staff are Italian and great menu.
I had a lovely pasta and a insalata carpresse for starter, fair enough price for wine and food. Can’t get half a bottle for 11 quid.
Would recommend, as service is quick and great food. About 20 a head for starter main and a drink. So reasonable, will be back to this pizza place along cowley.
