Ok, this is NY style in a very loose sense of the word. The crust was good and the toppings good quality. The salad I had was very fresh and the staff lovely, but man oh man, the sauce on the pizza tasted like it was from a frozen pizza in the 80s and they just discovered oregano. So much thick and pasty sauce loaded with 5 times more oregano than you can even conceive of.
Otherwise it’s was good and I hope I just caught them with a bad batch of sauce. Not the worst slice on the Big Island.

Changing my review because I return there today and the pizza was back to the great pizza I have known this restaurant for. They had all the ingredients I got a iced pizza for chrisp pizza the way I ordered it, and the staff was friendly and the service was quick. I hope that this becomes consistent. I have been going there for years and have always been very satisfied
They are under new ownership now, and there seems to be some quality control or new ownership problems. Pizza by the slice seems smaller, pizza crust tends to be soft, and long wait for food. I am really disappointed with what they used to be and what they are now. The last visit music was loud and I could not have a conversation with my guest. I asked them to turn it down, and they did, but not enough.
They ran out of by the slice and without asking my wife and I cooked us a small pizza half and half, which came out a full hour later with a soggy crust and 2/3 of what my wife ordered and about a third of what I ordered. I told the counter I was unhappy and why, but this was strike three since new ownership, I won’t be back. We ended up giving the remaining 6 slices away because of the low quality.

Mediterranean Pizza and cheese bread was good. It was prepared in a timely manner. Ordered by phone to pick up and the person who answered and took my order was friendly and helpful. It did take me about 8 call attempts over 10 minutes to get through to order. Luckily they picked up on my last try before I was going somewhere else.

Our pizzas were so-so. The worst was the man making the pizza and also took our order, had a giant wad of chewing tobacco stuffed in his mouth and constantly looked for a place to spit. Just gross. If you eat inside the restaurant good luck finding a clean table. If you eat outside on one of their tables, good luck getting your order. Good luck on getting your order hot. Good luck finding the workers after finally getting your order for utensils to eat with.

Our family were very hungry after we went to see a volcano. A lot of places were closed already and we found this pizza place. It was our second time in this restaurant. Will have been there in 2016 on our last trip to Hawaii.
My daughters and I are vegan, so we asked if they can make pizza without cheese, they agree. We got tomato pizza, it was not bad.
I wish their tables and games in the corner were cleaner. It’s something they need to work on on.

I was very excited to try this place after reading the reviews. I am not sure if they had an off night, but my experience wasn’t as great. I ordered one slice with one topping. The cheese was not melted all the way through. The flavor was off as well. The cinnamon knots were a disappointment. They were overcooked, which left them dry and crunchy. I might consider trying this place again because others have had better experiences, but I would be cautious.

Love their pizza, but their timing has gotten much worse lately. Called for a pizza for take out, told 30 minutes. Pizza didn’t come out to the counter until 60 minutes after ordering. And we were there at 25 minutes after ordering. Time before this, they were off by about 15 minutes. Understaffed? Not like the place was packed… Maybe one more chance. After all, at least they realized their mistake and my next one is free.

The Mediterranean pizza was delicious and their combo deal was an awesome bargain – don’t know if they change it daily/weekly but tonight was a 14″ premium pizza w/ garlic knots, a large Cesar salad and a 2-litre for $33!

The only reason I keep going is because the pizza is actually good. HOWEVER they often mess up the pizza, ie missing toppings, wrong toppings altogether, etc. Called recently about a half hour after they opened to order a pizza. I was told it would take another hour before the oven would be heated up enough to make my pizza. If you open at 11, wouldn’t it make sense to turn them on at 10???
