At Pisoneros’ We do as much as we can from scratch. Our wings are fried in beef tallow and we do not use seed or peanut oils. Our sauces are homemade, We make real mashed potatoes and gravy. Our macaroni and cheese starts with real bacon, we make our own roux, and even shred our own cheeses. We like to say when you come in to Pisoneros’ It’s like coming into our home. All of our beef jerky production is done in house. The majority of our flavorings are also homemade. We roast our own garlic, ripen our own mangoes and all of our chiles start fresh, which is dehydrated and powdered up in house.

We ordered the family meal, which came with 4 meats (we got garlic parm chicken bites & steak bites + cubed bologna & sliced sausage with BBQ sauce) and 2 sides (we went with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes & gravy). And to top it off — a cheesecake bite.
Everything was full of flavor. The steak bites were tender, the mac and cheese was creamy, and the mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency. The garlic parmesan sauce was delicious — oil-based rather than creamy, which I actually like.
And that cheesecake bite… so glad I saved room for that little piece of heaven!
Steve was incredibly polite and helpful — not just to us, but to everyone who came in while we were there. Even though this isn’t a full-service restaurant, he made it feel like one. Whenever he wasn’t at the counter taking orders, he was out checking on customers to make sure they had everything they needed.
We’ll definitely be back!
If you haven’t been by there, go give it a try.
*no pic of the cheese cake bite because well, I indulged and didn’t think about it until it was gone *
My only suggestion for the restaurant that I would like to see a green vegetable on the menu, maybe a nice fried garlic asparagus crown or grilled green beans…..
The service….it felt like we were eating at friends house who just loved to cook for his friends. We really liked that he came to check on us and ask how we liked everything. The seating is more of a café style, with no tables inside the restaurant. They are outside the restaurant but still inside the building. We had no problem with it at all.
You will be seeing us again soon!
If you’re looking for bold, handcrafted flavors and genuine hospitality, Pisoneros inside Mall 31 is absolutely worth the stop.
From the moment I arrived, Steve was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, taking the time to walk me through the different meats, sauces, and rubs. That level of customer service already sets the tone—but the food truly seals the deal.
Let’s start with the mac and cheese. I’m very particular about mac and cheese (I usually only like my own and hate wasting money on disappointing versions), so when Steve offered me a sample, I was glad I tried it. It was delicious. The flavors of bacon, onion, and garlic really pop. I’ll admit, I gave it a side-eye when I heard onion and garlic in mac and cheese (but who am I to judge—I use bell peppers in mine), but it worked beautifully. It was slightly salty for my personal taste, though that could simply be from the cheeses used. If I hadn’t been sharing with my husband (who doesn’t eat bacon), I absolutely would have ordered it. I’ll definitely be taking the bacon tip and adding it to my own mac and cheese recipe—thanks for sharing!
I ordered the three-meat meal, and hands down, my favorite was the steak bites with the garlic rub. Absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and literally melting in your mouth. Not a single tough bite.
The other two meats were wings in Black Velvet and Sweet BBQ. Full transparency—I don’t care for spicy food. To me, both sauces had heat. If you’re sensitive to spice like I am, consider these closer to a medium heat level. My husband thought the sauces were fine and barely spicy ♀️. That said, the wings were cooked perfectly. Steve lets you know they take a little time, and that patience is well worth it. These were meaty, well-cooked wings—not fatty, undercooked, or soft like so many places serve. I loved that.
I wanted to try the loaded mashed potatoes, but they were sold out (next time for sure). I went with the fried potatoes and gravy instead. They were okay, but I think a sweet fry seasoning or dusting would really elevate the flavor.
And finally—do not skip the house-made ranch. Grab a few. Seriously. It’s that good.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience. You can truly taste the care, passion, and intention behind the food.great food for the price. We had more than enough for the two of us with leftovers.
Thank you, Steve, for sharing your love of food with us. We’ll definitely be back.
And from one California soul to another—nothing but California love in every bite. West Coast flavor, heart, and hospitality done right.
