Mumbai House is the absolute best Indian food in Salt Lake City, Utah, look no further. The food alone speaks for itself, however, if you have the opportunity to dine in the atmosphere is very relaxed, romantic and beautifully decorated. The staff are always friendly and tentative. The food is flavorful and bold, the consistency is always on par and never disappointing.
I always get the Paneer Makhani, it’s so silky and cravable, the texture and flavor doesn’t compare to any other. I always try something new each time I visit. Tonight I tried the Shahi Daal, the urad (black) lentils were cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Some of the other dishes I recommend are vegetable samosas, malai kofta, paneer saag, aloo gobi and vegetable masala.

From the moment we approached the restaurant, enticing aromatics lured us further into the warmth of this authentic Salt Lake institution. It was as if I stepped into a tandoori oven, one with the curry. Mango lassi, so sweet, tantalized my taste buds. Dessert for drink? Yes, please! Our server, Bentley, took great care to offer recommendations for my vegetarian request (settling happily on vegetable makhani) and a fun option for our 7-year-old daughter (chicken pakora served with tamarind chutney – devoured). The restaurant was bustling but we didn’t have a wait and could hear each other as if we were in a more intimate setting. We tried three desserts: cardamom infused rice deliciousness, mango ice cream, and kulfi (pistachio ice cream), a soft landing to cool the spicy entrees.

This was our first time in Salt Lake City. Seeing this highest rated Indian Restaurant was amazing and we absolutely had to check it out. Honestly, it lived up to its expectation.

We ordered:
1. Tandoori Shrimp: 10/10 with a very interesting presentation on a hot plate with tandoori onions and capsicum. Delicious along with the mint chutney and butter rotis.

2. Mumbai Masala: Not quite sure on the spice levels here, We ordered the medium but I am sure we would have enjoyed a higher spice level. With tender chicken pieces and a flavourful gravy, this was neither too oily nor too hot. It was very well balanced and went well with both – the rice and roti. (8/10)

3. Mango Lassi: As good as it can get without real alphonso mangoes of the season. A good blend of tang and sweetness. It paired very well with the food. (8/10)

4. Desert – The Pistachio Kulfi was too sweet and very intense. We were not ready for that and did not finish it. For us, it was a 2/10 but I guess it is could be made for the American taste.

A suggestion for the management: Indian restaurants are notoriously criticized for smelly and unkempt restrooms. I am sorry to point out that the men’s restroom could use a lot more attention to cleanliness, hygiene and odor.

Hyta was an excellent server! 2 mango drinks amazing. Sorry no pic on the app, but enjoyed the combo of all 3. The 2 vegetarian dishes we split we good to the last bite! This was my 2nd time here, won’t be my last, so many great options to choose.

Amazing Vegan cuisines!! Ordered the Matter Mushroom and it was paired with some delicious rice. They serve dinner dishes during lunch too so don’t be shy to inquire about it! Highly recommend the hottest spice level as your tastebuds take in the flavor!

Had an excellent experience here on a Saturday night! Wait time was only 20mins so we walked to Walmart which is conveniently in the same parking lot. The food was insanely good, some of the best Indian food I have ever had. Our waiter Bentley also informed us that they are open for lunch now so we will definitely check it out! We will be back.

The food was just Amazing everything tasted so good. The service was also top notch and we felt really good vibes from everyone. The server also mentioned that they help serve the homeless get food if they need and they have been doing that ever since the government shut down.

Good food, mediocre service. Not sure why theres 19k reviews here but it wasn’t that amazing. I’d try some other places before returning. Though I did like the mango soy shake! Price is a bit high. Look for coupon on back of receipt from Smiths grocery.
